For my Followers and Viewers · 10:11pm May 11th, 2013
I have to say, I'm not very pleased with the reception Greyfeather has been getting over the past few days. The final insult was when I checked the story yesterday to find a fresh dislike, but no fresh views.
Greyfeather has been up for three weeks now, and has barely broken 100 unique views from the time I posted it. It has 24 likes and 2 dislikes as of the time of this posting, which is an all-time low for me as far as new stories are concerned. The last blog post I made about Greyfeather didn't even reach 15 views, while a blog post on a potential Tavern sequel got more than twice that. And in the case of the sequel blog post, I made sure to only send notifications to people following Tavern. It's clear you want more Tavern, and I can appreciate that, but I wish you'd be more open minded.
I also want to note that on the first day of Greyfeather's release, it got a dislike. One of the comments said, and I quote, "Huzaa! A fine thing to come home to." On its own, this kind of comment was very nice, and for which I'm deeply thankful for. However, someone had thumbed this comment down, and I'm suspecting it was the same person who gave me my first dislike. If the intentions of the comment and the fic getting downvoted were to imply that, no, Greyfeather was not a fine thing to come home to, then consider the implication successfully made.
Yes, there are several favorites and several upvotes, and for both groups of people I extend my most heartfelt thanks for supporting me. But it seems clear to me Greyfeather isn't "doing it" for most of my readers.
I wish more people would give it a chance, honest, I do. I'm sorry if it's not as interesting for you guys as my other stories were, but I'm still trying my hardest with it. If you don't like it, fine, but at least have the decency to tell me why you feel that way.
I've got a truckload of fics in my own queue I've been meaning to read, but I will move Greyfeather to the top. :P
I'm giving Greyfeather a chance. The reason why I haven't begun to read it yet is that I have a ton of fics and books on my to read-list and I prioritize complete fics over incomplete ones. And I rarely rate any incomplete fic, I like to wait untill they are finished to render my final judgement.
Saw it got posted but haven't had a chance to read it. I shall do so now
You guys... thanks.
Well it is on my read later list, and I'm quickly chewing through it so I'll definitely get to this story asap
Actually, I'll skip the few (aka 2) I haven't read yet after I finish my current one (only about 110k words so far so it'll be quick) and, knowing your writing style, you'll deffo get one more like and fave
I see you have posted to EQD in the past, perhaps your fic can find an audience there?

I sent it off to EqD almost two weeks ago, and no response yet. No, I don't think Daily is the answer... I've got something else in mind.
1072662 Well, that's normal. 2 weeks is bare minimum response time for them.
