Twilight's talent is magic: she is a librarian.
Rainbow Dash's talent is flying: she is a weather pony.
Pinkie's talent is parties: she is a baker.
Celestia's talent is moving the sun: she is a ruler.
Shining armor's talent is (i think) barrier magic: he is the captain of the guard.
Ones Cute Mark dose not dictate ones job; only ones talent.

I am most talented with the English language. That is not going to be my job and I don't want it to be. Ones talent does not dictate ones profession. It may inform, but never dictate, ones job.

Cutie Marks are like boy scout badges: you complete a noteworthy task and earn a mark to show your successes. The talent was already there, you just had to find it.
