Delays and Proposals. · 3:19am Mar 22nd, 2012
Due to the inevitable and psychtoicaly complex disease known as 'Real Life', I am afraid that I have been unable to meet my before mentioned deadline for Thursday (3-22-12) on the Game of Stones. BUT worry not, the tale shall be up by Sunday (3-26-12) without any doubt (2 days off to focus on it, yay).
But setting this blog up to see if my readers might be interested in participating in a writing experiment that has been buzzing around in my head for a while.
I won't spoil much, but suffice to say it would be a MLP Crossover with a twist... at the end of each Chapter, the readers are presented with a multiple-choice of how the story will proceed, the most popular option at the end of a weeks time being set as the decision made.
So, does this sound like something everypony would like to see?
Also, since the blog looks bland without one, have a relevant pic.
SWEET AND YES
Yes a million times yes.
Considering the quality of your work, a short delay is nothing. Take as long as you need to craft the best possible story.
The "choose-your-own-adventure" story sounds like a great idea. It's a rarely used format (I have found only one example), and allowing reader participation is not only fun, but draws us even further into the tale.
Thanks once again for the stories you've given us so far, and good luck with your next project!
1. Please do not worry about delays, your quality is plenty to make up for it. Don't rush yourself.
Three... No, wait... Two.) Yes. I have not seen a story set up like this. Please let me be part of this experiment.
Interactive Fiction? Sounds like a blast! I'm all for it. Also take your time to rest up and resolve your IRL issues. I personally don't mind waiting, I prefer it when people take the time needed to make something awesome.
Yes to the idea of letting the reader choose.
And don't worry about delays, the quality and length of the work makes it worth the wait.
Interactive storylines are awesome! Can't wait to see what you will come up with.
One question though: Will you give the options or will you check the suggestions of readers and select a few good ones? Thereby, creative thinking would be rewarded. And my more insane side could finally get some say in this
Planning to give options, this is a writing experiment in interactivity to see if I can keep up even if the choice selected isn't the one I would choose and still make it entertaining, but I don't plan on opening the flood gates and drowning in different choices.
I'm crazy, not stupid
I like how it sounds. Count me in for the experiment.
Make it so.
^ What those guys said.
An interactive adventure sounds like an interesting challenge.
YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAH
I Go
A multiple choice 'Choose your own adventure' type story?
As a creator and harbinger of chaos, I likes this idea
can't tell if HALO or Mass Effect will participate for great justice.
Du Eet!
i for one, am against the choose your own adventure style. ITs like, youl be reading along and then cliffhanger and then " should he a. walk forward, b save his tardis, or c, do nothing." see pulls you rght out of the story and out of the action. also what about after the chose has been made? it will just become a nucence at the bottom of the story. so, in my rambling and in some ways trollish opinion is, no, do not go to chose your own story.
1) I don't mind the delays, just so long as there's more for me to read I'm OK with it! (That is unless it takes you 4 months or something to update! Then we may have a problem! )
2) I've actually seen things like this in other fanfiction and the results varied from story to story . The only thing I would say is to remember that it's YOUR story, and so you should have the final say so! Hopefully it'll workout though! I can't wait for the next chapter!
choose your own adventure style, love it. Crossover with Mass Effect? that's ok.
In CYOA interactive ficitons, you need to be not lazy and write down every possible outcome, like if we choice A, go to chapter 3, if B go to Chapter 2 or 11 or whatever

Tall Order right there. Let's see, that's assuming 2-3 choices for every chapter... each one branching to a new set.... That's... ALOT of chapters. Would be incredibly slow moving. Hmmm, But potential would indeed be high. The downside is that given the length of time between each chapter's Choices, ponies would be able to read though all of the option versions effectively reading 3 different stories at once.
Hmmmm...
IDDDEEEAAAAA!!!! What is it? Nope, not gonna tell you.
