    City of Omelas

The Royal Guard · 2:34pm Apr 27th, 2013

The weirdest headcanon idea of all time: the reason the members of the Royal Guard all look the same is because Celestia used the Mirror Pond to clone them. Discuss.

it's actually likely. consider, the mirror pond clones the pony, but leaves them with the barest mindset. IE: train a stallion intensively into the mindset of a guard, along with the physicality of it. then clone endlessly. no 'Real' life is lost, and you have a well trained, and well styled military force.

that's genius.

and add in that celly is old enough to know the mirror pond isnt just a fairy tale...

Oni

it would also fit with the ratio of mares to stallions...

Then what does that make shining armor?

1038198 Judging from Pinkie, it seems the Mirror Pond reduces the intelligence of the clones. Therefore, while clones make up the bulk of Equestria's forces, commanders would have to come from finer stock. Most notably, capable individuals trained to lead, such as Shining Armor.

Clone wars, and absolutely no thinning of the bloodline due to magical resonance. Sounds deliciously efficient.

Hey it would work, take the strongest earth pony, the most manuverable pegasis and strongest willed unicorn to make your army. You got a uniform army at low cost efficiency...until they question their being. They must have counter mesures(cupcakes), dont need another geth incident.
