Two cents on that new Teen Titan show. · 8:52pm Apr 26th, 2013
Hello, i'm storiesatrandom, i remember it, so you don't have 2.
Remember the Teen Titans?
Ah yes, while i was not a fan of the works of DC comics, or even that of marvel, i have to confess that Teen Titans was awesome, it was serious, actiony, and fun at times. Though it's an obvious amarican show imitating japinese anime, it was a fun show. It introduse us villains not normally known in DC's canon lineup, as well as being a show that had Robin from the batman francise that is actselly realitivly badass, and not like most of his incarnations when he whined like a bitch. (A second best argueably belongs to Young Justise).
It also introduses us very little known heroes, like Starfire, who back then before the show was incredability slutty, and looked older.
and Beast boy, who was a member of a team that ripped off The Fantasic Four called the doom patrol,
Ravin, who also was painfully different,
and Cyborg, who was alot different too.
the show made these obscured characters into teens as a desperate attempt to make them more child friendly for a show targeting kids, i mean, the differences are strongly obvious! since i don't read comic books, i don't have a very vast knowlegde of what these characters were like before their tv appearences.
but reguardless, it was a great show. it may deter very greatly from the normally dark nature of DC comics, but hey, if it's gonna be for kids, it has to supply for something right? anyway, that show was awesome, and it's ashame it's not continuing today, cause i enjoyed it. It was one of a very few cartoons in Cartoons Network's lineup i actselly have postitive feelings beyound "neutrol indifference" or "meh." and it's been forever since the Teen Titan show ended. until, a very, very, sad replacement came forth.
(warning, crappy quility. Goes to show how CN has serious issues sharing it's new toys with us.)
after all those years of waiting for more Teen Titans, THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN COME UP WITH?!
While the original show wasn't exsactly loyal to the characters most of them were based on, at least it was still fun. This, unworthy supitude is..... well, it's what i came to expect from cartoon network. It used to be a great place for great cartoons.... and wow, did it really go downhill like shit. i have a large array of mixed feelings of the shows being runned on CN these days, mostly of neutrol status. like many, i missed the old cartoons, and i missed The original teen titans more now that the closest thing we got to new adventures of the Double ts is, THIS?!
I mean, one, they've all been made into morons, 2, they're more of a threat to the city they supposingly protact then any actual threats. I mean, in the promo, Cyborg and Beast Boy litteraly blew up a pizza palor!
worse, Cyborg is a joke, Beast Boy's a bigger moron then he kinda was in the original show, but at least the original TT Beast Boy knows when to take things seriously.
Also, Starfire became a self-entitled bitch, Raven just became..... well, just different then the normal brooding mistress of shadows we know. and Robin..... well, let's just say, he's no better then the incarnations where he's mainly the fire-drew-away jackass, he's now an ignorent jackass.
i'll give it some points for referenceing the original show like that moth larva, but that's about it. it's just a bad replacement for everyone's favorite teens. I missed the old show, and i am glad it is in Boomerrang, the retirement home for cartoons not in CN anymore. If your curious enough, catch the new show if you can. But, if you desire a better show, go to boomerang and watch there if it's on. If you actselly don't have boomerang, GO FUCKING GET IT! it's sad to know Cartoon Network is doing this to itself. the live action shows are bad enough, now even the cartoons are barely as enjoyable as they were before? these are sad times.
