Well, twice in the span of a week... this is new...
First off, I'd commissioned secret-pony on deviantART awhile back for some art of my OC, and they both just recently came in. Needless to say, I'm quite thrilled ^u^
I HIGHLY recommend commissioning her if you've looking for some art of your OC. Her quality of work is superb and always so cute.
Now on to the second part of this post: my recommendation for a good read.
This round's pick is written by JetGrey and is a "sort of sequel" to his first fic, "An Equestrian Engineer" entitled Ten Equestrian Afternoons. This one's just starting out and is intentionally quite vague and cryptic, so I'll not say too much to spoil it. It is the story of a young, magically gifted filly named Eventide who is learning magic from an aged wizard. It is set in the distant future, long after Twilight's ascension where all who knew her when she wasn't just "Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia's personal student and the resident librarian of Ponyville" are long gone. Eventide main method of learning is reliving "lessons" from the lives of another pony though being immersed into their life as a spectator, but this soon goes awry and she gains the ability to interact and change the course of these "lessons" for better or for worse. The question still remains, will her changes and interference lead to a brighter future for her and Equestria, or will they doom it to a dark reality that is beyond redemption?
Jet's been doing a wonderful job keeping the reader in the dark just enough to keep them addicted, while divulging enough information to not be infuriating with some subtle hints being made to give those paying rapt attention a clue as to what might be coming next. A very good read that has a good update rate (he tries to update weekly, or there about).
Well, that's all for this blog post. Barring getting some new art of one of my OCs, there won't be another one for awhile. 'Till next time, good reading folks.
