Top 6 Favourite Final Boss Themes! · 9:14pm Apr 14th, 2013
I think greatodyer is fuelling a lot of blog posts I wish to make, so let us dive into the realm of Final Boss themes, the most intense part of any game, and it usually comes with some very impressive music. Here are my personal top six. (Remember, these are MY favourites, so no bickering.)
6. Final Rival Battle (Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow)
It does make me sad how this song is overlooked by the other final battle themes in Pokemon, such as Lance/Red or Ghestis, but this song definetly left an impact on me when I was little. It's rare that you hear a theme like this in Pokemon games these days, and I don't think it can ever be recreated again. (Except for FireRed/LeafGreen, now shut your face.)
5. Alone 'Z' (Alien Soldier)
Now this song is actually quite slow, but is very sinister in style. For a great big Wolf cyborg hybrid, this song fits him rather well and isn't in your face about it, like Blacksheep or Seven Force. Definitely a solid theme.
4. Magician Pete (World of Illusion)
Again, another slow, yet sinister song, especially given the nature of the game. While the boss is easy and can be beaten with little difficulty, the music is actually very good, and is worth a listen all the way through.
3. Run (Unreal Tournament 1999)
Also known as the Hyperspace theme, used in the battle against Xan. A fast paced Techno theme sure to give anyone a run for their money, given the difficulty.
2. Final Bowser - Phase 2 (New Super Mario Bros Wii.)
This was a tough choice between this and the Final Battle theme from Super Mario 64, but hearing this song reminded me of the time I was first shown this boss. My mind was blown across the room with this song, and compared to the DS music, that's saying a lot.
1. Final Boss (Sonic 3 and Knuckles)
A boss theme fit for kings, this song has proven me that my favourite game ever can produce one of gaming's most breathtaking songs. I love this theme, and I will continue to do so until I am dead and buried.
And that's my top 6 Final Boss Themes. I apologize for taking ANOTHER of my brother's ideas, but I just had to throw in my themes. Why? Because why not? It's a lot like science.

They are quite nice my favorite of your 6 is the Pokemon and the sonic theme
Gary Oak was the nightmare of my childhood
I lost count of how many times I had to fight the Elite Four again because of him and his stupid Gyarados. And his stupid Pidgeot. And his stupid Alakazam. And his stupid Venusaur.
I still remember the day I finally defeated him, I was so happy that I started to jump and laugh all over my room
I haven't played the other games, but the themes you've chosen sound pretty good.
Especially the Final Boss music from Sonic 3, it sounds amazing. I love music from old games.
