Whew, what an end to my work week! I thought I was going to have to work tonight and pull a 12-hour shift. This morning however, my supervisor comes up to me around six and says if I'll say over till 11, I shouldn't have to come in tonight. Well, long story short, I stayed till 11 and have my whole 2-day weekend! I think the following gif of Twilight shows how I feel about this.
You'll have to pardon me, I only got a 3-hour nap in this after. So, naturally, I'm more than a little tired, which is why after I post this blog and check my updates, I'll be heading to bed. No way I'm in any shape to write anymore tonight. Besides, I always do better when I'm properly rested!
The Rainbow Dash story is coming along nicely. I may have to break it up into two parts, and depending on how long it takes to write, I might release both parts separately. This way you have something to look forward to. As of last night, I have a little over 6,000 words, and I'm still on the first love scene. lol No, it's nothing over the top, per say, I just have a pre-scene discussion that helps you get a better understanding of Rainbow Dash. I have to confess, getting this story started has been a bit of a challenge. I'm really trying to do Rainbow Dash's character justice. She's a great deal different from the other mares I write about, so I want to proceed carefully. While at the surface she hardly seems super warm and overly caring, if like me, you've paid close attention to her in the series, and fandom, you'll see there is a warm and caring side to her. Anyway, I'm really excited about having some time to buckle down and work on this. I do my best work when I'm off. There's no pressure and I can go a my own pace, without an immediate deadline because of it being time to go back to work.
Now, you may wonder also, why the title of my blog? Well, I was out at the mall with my best friend this evening. Now, I had almost forgotten that we have a Build-a-Bear Workshop at our mall. I remember seeing pics on ebay of Plush Build-a-Bear ponies. And, imagine the rush I felt when I saw plush Pinkie Pies and Rainbow Dashes in the window. I seriously considered getting one of Rainbow Dash. I told my friend, I'm such a brony! He then told me, do you really need more plushies? I said, of course I do. So, I kicked the idea of making one around, while we browsed music and DVDs at FYE. Well, it took all of 30 seconds, to make up my mind. Especially when he told me she only costs $24! I think that clinched things for me. Anyway, rather than ramble on. I've got pics of my adorable new Rainbow Dashie. She is so cute and very well made. First, here's a few fun things about the Build-a-Bear process. You pick out an un-stuffed plushie, then take her over to the filling station, an attendant asks how soft or firmly packed you want the fill. (I asked for it firm enough for her to stand). Then, once they're filled, you get to take a tiny plush red heart and insert it in the opening in her back. (Daww, you literally give them a heart). Then after they are stitched up, you can pick out outfits/accesories (if you want). All they have for the ponies are their gala outfits, so naturally I got Rainbow's =D. It wasn't expensive either, $12.50. Then you get to go over and create a birth certificate and register you pony, in case she is ever lost and then found and returned. It was a fun experience. And best of all, I found out the new plush ponies are doing "insanely" well (the clerk's words), and that they will be adding Twilight and Fluttershy next, most likely in November. In time he said they'll probably do all of the main six. Hopefully they'll do ever more.
But wow, even though I have a plush Rainbow Dash, to find this one when I wanted some fresh inspiration for my story, how ideal a find was this? Well, below are the pics of my new Dashie. I thought you might enjoy seeing what she looks like.

Happy to hear progress on your Dashie story is proceeding nicely....indeed, I'm happy to hear that you're focusing on your story without issues, but that also makes me also tell you not to overwork yourself some more: this may sound weird given that we all look forward to your stories, but I get the impression that these vacations don't come often for you...we've already gone into lengths how worked you are - while it's good to take time to patiently work on your stories at your own pace, I feel the need to tell you to also take time to relax, go out, and do other things as well. I know this may seem weird, again, given that we all look forward to your works, and I probably sound like your mother (
), but as before....it really sounds like these breaks don't come often for you - use the time wisely and not just for one thing

Still eager to read your Rainbow fic, as I mentioned ... whenever that was, I'm interested in seeing how you write her character here. I was excited to see that you took close care and have paid attention to her character, so now I really can't wait to read it. I'm not the biggest RD fan around, but it seems like a lot of authors have so much difficulty nailing her character. Xenophilia's a great example of RD done right, as well as everything else in that story.
Either way, lookin' forward to to reading it. Even though I've still got to get around to the second chapter of your AliTwi story...

Have made it to Chp 5 of You Brighten My Day now, certainly a beautifully detailed story that I actually don't regret reading (as I am somebody who perceives a lot of fiction as convoluted and messed up regardless of way, shape or form and just am not prepared to subject myself to any of it) so I guess that really says a lot about your writing.
By the by, were you contemplating a Lyra story at some point or has that been scrapped? Oh maybe you could take a chance on Cheerilee in the future, too.
It was as Celestia was conducting business that a Royal Guard burst into the throne room. "Your Maj..." he gasped, then stopped before the Sun Throne and began again. "Your Majesty, I bring dire news!"
"What news, Silent Heart?" the Solar Diarch asked.
"Nightmare Moon has returned!" the poor Guardspony gasped.
Eyes widening, Celestia passed the scroll she was writing unto her scribe to finish and then she stood. "Where is she, Silent Heart?"
"She... she's in the morgue." Silent Heart answered promptly. Then, muttering under his breath, "No doubt working some dark ritual upon our honored dead..."
At his answer, Celestia gasped softly, her eyes misting over with tears. There was only one reason why her sister might be there. She hoped, she prayed that it was not to be, but alas... Without hesitation, the Solar Diarch left the Throne Room and made her way to the Palace Morgue. Upon arrival there she entered the heart of the place to find her worst fears come to life. Before her eyes she beheld the Dread Mare, Nightmare Moon, and prepared for a fight... But something was deathly wrong.
Before her was not the Nightmare Moon she knew. This Nightmare Moon sought not to challenge her, sought not to bring upon Equestria Eternal Night. Instead, utter despair suffused Nightmare Moon as she cried and cried and cried... over her beloved. His body, white-haired, wizened... dead. Perfectly washed and prepared for burial. "Oh, Lulu..." the Solar Diarch murmured as she made her way into the room. At the sound, Nightmare Moon whirled about to face the Solar Diarch, flaring her wings and hissing, baring her teeth - desiring nothing more than to protect her beloved human lifemate even in death - but then... she faltered upon seeing Celestia. "He... he adored Us, Celly" said she, struggling to speak through her tears. "Even when We were in this form, he still loved Us all the same; perhaps moreso. But now... n-now..." Squeezing a hoof to her breast, the Dread Mare, choked, gasped, utterly overcome with her grief.
"Wh-When... When did it happen?" Celestia asked. Moving to stand beside the Dread Mare of the Moon - forgetting about the concept of the 'Hero' and the 'Villain' - the Solar Diarch enfolded the black mare with a wing. "At two fifteen this morning," the Lunar Diarch whispered. "We... we felt it; we felt him leave Us... Prepared His body Ourselves..." Lost, insensate, unaware, the jet-black, armored Alicorn gently poked and nosed her beloved David. "We... we do not... understand. He was fine, yesterday; we were having Sup on our Balcony and he was... he was telling me a story from Earth. He was fine, he wasfine, hewas..." A low, keening cry issued forth from deep within her - a sound that almost pushed Celestia over the edge herself - and then, as the Solar Diarch watched, Nightmare Moon sat upon her haunches and begged...
Horror gripped Celestia as Nightmare Moon whimpered, begged, pleaded... - "Please, Celly... please..." - to be undone by the Elements again; for banishment, for death, anything that might undo the wrenching wound within her heart; that she might be with her beloved again...
"I-I..." Celestia stuttered, "I can't, Lulu; you know I can't do that..."
Fueled by her despair, it was then that Nightmare Moon 'fought' with Celestia... if one could even call it a fight. Magical blows, shoving, tussling, horn fencing... all were easily blocked by the Solar Diarch for all had no strength or effort; and even then neither combatant wished to damage the body of dear David. At the end of all things, Nightmare Moon's clumsy attempt at wrestling was turned into the gentlest of embraces and finally, finally Nightmare Moon let go, sobbing brokenly 'neath her sister's white wing...
"Sssh..." Celestia soothed, "everything will be alright, Luna..."
"Luna?"

"LUNA!"
And then, Luna awakened with a gasp, her ancient heart punding within her chest with the force of a double edged mallet, to find David - as hale and hearty as the day she'd met him - awake and leaning over her. His eyes were filled with such love, such worry and concern, that she felt as if she'd burst into tears here as she had in her dream!
"Are you alright, love? You were crying out in your sleep?"
"N-No..." choked she, a lump in her throat; then she proceeded to tell him of her awful, awful dream. By the time she'd finished, David was holding her consolingly yet at the same time shaking his head. "Luna..." he chided, gently, "now why would you have a silly dream like that? We -shared- ourselves with each other the eve we married; since then like you I've been undying - immortal. I'm not going anywhere, love and you can tell Nightie that, too!"
Luna nodded, kiss-kissing his cheeks, blowing softly unto his face. "We know, but... it was still a horrible dream..." Holding his beloved mare close, the human nodded; then his hold became a gentle stroking and scratching here and there as he replied, "I can imagine... but let's make sure you have no more silly dreams, eh?" With those words... suddenly David's hands were everywhere - combing through her mane, roaming over her pthalo coat, rubbing her wings and belly... All Luna could do was nicker-laugh helplessly and make other very, very happy pony noises!
I have never been to Build-A-Bear before, but after seeing how a Rainbow Dash would look from there, I might have to visit one. Luckily I know where one is. Also, I really like her mane!
I'm really looking forward to seeing how a Rainbow Dash story from you will turn out. I've read almost all of your stories, so I know it will be good, but...now I don't want you to feel pressured by this, but I'm wondering if your story can top my #1 favorite story on this site?

And now I want my own build-a-pony plushie, and if I find out my mall has a build a bear workshop I will be getting one! ...I just imagined that:
Me: an 18 year old hardcore rock fan with long rocker hair wearing a red skull-cap decorated with lightning bolts, a full length black leather trench coat, a chain wallet, and a shirt that will most likely feature skulls on it, walking into a build-a-bear workshop to get a Fluttershy plushie. Imagine that if you will for a moment, because that's what I look like.
Oh good lord just imagine the laughs. Well I just say to hell with them. I enjoy quality, and this fandom has had a lot of it. So if I want a Fluttershy plushie that "yays" when I squeeze it then damn it I am going to have one!
Every bit the Solar Princess of Equestria, Celestia stared down at Nightmare Moon from on high as the Dread Mare stood before the Court. "Read the charges," she boomed.
At her side, Twilight Sparkle nodded before reading from a prepared scroll, "The Accused Mare henceforth known as Nightmare Moon stands before this court charged with attempting to usurp the Solar Throne. She also stands accused of attempting to darken the Principality of Equestria under Eternal Night."
A severe frown etched upon her muzzle, Celestia nodded her thanks to Twilight before returning her attention to Nightmare Moon. "How do you plead?" she boomed.
Nightmare Moon sneered at the Solar Diarch. "Hah!" she crowed. "Not guilty!"
"As I expected from one such as you!" Celestia replied. "There is only one sentence for unrepentant ponies like you..." and here, she leaned forwards, menacingly. "Death," she uttered softly, "... by tickling! Get her, boys!"
"What?" shrieked Nightmare. "No No! NO! AIIIEEEEEEE!" But it was already too late. Daniel and David leaped from behind the Solar Throne and proceeded to tickle Nightmare Moon until she was upon the floor, wriggling and writhing beneath their attentions, utterly hapless with laughter! "Ah... Ah-ha-ha-hah! Mercy, mercy, stop! I - ha-ha-ha - I won't do it again, I swear!"
Celestia raised a hoof and the two humans ceased their relentless attack. Daniel returned to his place at Celestia's side, whilst David remained where he was, gently stroking Luna's muzzle and cheeks whilst she caught her breath.
And this is when I want my country to get punched in the face. We don't have any kind of shops for MLP, nor a plushie making one... I wanted a Celestia one...
(And yes, the inspiration came really handy, as I see... 
)

Compared to a number of plushies out there, she looks stunningly like she does on the show. And every plush pony I own, just never looks as good in a pic as they do in person. This newest Rainbow is no exception. Her mane is quite lovely, despite not standing out so well in the pics.

My friend is also a brony, now he's not nearly as vocal about it as I am, but he enjoys the show and fandom as well. I partially owe it to him that I became a fan of FIM. He shared art he found online about the series before I even knew what to think of the 4th generation of ponies. I should have known I'd end up loving them too.
I'm very touched that you are so concerned for my well-being.
Just keep in mind, I will be resting, and doing other things. Naturally, I'll be spending plenty of time with my new Dashie. She's keeping an eye on me from my bed. While she's looking forward to my new story about her, she keeps asking me to cuddle with her. 
So, I won't just be writing. But since I spent most of yesterday resting and doing things, other than writing, today is a writing day, with ample time to chill on the side! 
One last thing, I will never mind you or my other followers asking me to take it easy and not to overwork myself. I deeply appreciate how much you all care about me!

You know it's funny they have these plushies now. I remember thinking when I first started looking for plush ponies. Why doesn't Build-a-Bear get in on the pony wagon (no pun intended). And now, they did! Like Rainbow Dash once said - "This is soooooooooo awesome!"
Given the popularity of Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie alone, he said they will be releasing others. So Twilight and Fluttershy will be out eventually. The clerk said November. So they are probably in the process of making them and getting them together. I know I said, "Cool." When he mentioned Twilight was going to be one of the next ponies they'd offer.

Yep, I'm glad of this weekend off. I sooo needed one. And yes, I'll be taking great care with Rainbow, but at the same time, the lesser known sides of her aren't too hard to work into her normal personality. I'm really enjoying writing about her.
And you're right, my Rainbow Plushie is really something! Her fur is like velvet, the same way I describe all the ponys' fur feeling like in my stories.

Oh and yes, your other remarks. No, I haven't scrapped my Lyra story. Just don't know when I'll get to it. I really do want to write about her. Maybe if I can't get to my 3rd person Lyra story, I'll do a 2nd-person one-shot, just so I can dabble with her character. As far as Cheerilee is concerned, I have a story about her in the works too, most likely one of my 2nd-person human x pony one-shots. I've been thinking about a number of ideas for it. So, time will tell.
I love that there are so many amazing ponies to write about. I really am. It means a nearly endless slew of ideas!

I barely made it past Nightmare Moon's first line...before the first of the tears started running down my face. I quickly went for my plush Luna, and held her close as I read the rest of this. I paused before finishing, and while I nuzzled Luna, I had a flash of inspiration for the beginning of chapter 11, a scene that would be teary in and of itself.

And you did it, you made me cry again. Though, it's only natural. I already have an intimate connection to Luna and David, from writing their story.
I really love your bits. I was happy about the second one, I needed something cheerful, after that first one. But it was just....so beautiful. I swear in someways you really are a mind reader. I'm considering having them both have nightmares, that will leave them shaken when they awake. This wasn't what I had in mind for Luna's, but it certainly stirred my creativity.
Your shorts about Luna and Celestia, stir my passions for both of them and really make me consider putting Rainbow's story on hold so I can work on their stories, once again. I just love the two princesses.
BTW, David and Daniel tag-teaming Nightmare Moon with a tickle torture...priceless!

1007058 While Xenophilia was good, my favorite story is actually The Colour Of My World. It might be because that was the first second person story I've read on this site, it's about Rainbow Dash and it always makes me smile and feel warm inside.

Just a lightly bruised fist,nothing to worry about
My anger is mostly with myself. My brain has started plaguing me again with scenes from stories that will never be,and that angers me to no end. Whats i am done with some light house cleaning and making dinner i will share one of them with you. The first is an action scene from a probable story staring two of our OC's (it came to me when i found a particular nostalgic song) The second is a more touching scene from a Human and filly Scootalo story. (I would say this on your profile but the layout is really bad on mobile D:) So Jaydex, I was in the magical land of thinking (The Shower xD) and I was thinking about which season of MLP was my favorite. I'd have to say season 2 was the best because I just loved all of the episodes so much. The finale was...so...freaking good and I loved Princess Cadance, she was beautiful and her singing was out-frickin-standing. Ummm anyways, to the point... What Princess is your favorite besides Luna? Chrysalis counts too :P I can't decide between Celestia and Cadence.

That could seriously be taken the wrong way, but I know what you're referring to; my story snippets!
Nah, not really; I just have a strong connection with Luna. I sympathize/empathize with her deeply and consider her my #1 pony. I can even empathize with Nightmare Moon; I think of her as misunderstood and redeemable. All she wanted was for her Little Ponies to love and respect her as they did Celestia. She went about trying to get that respect the wrong way, of course, but still...
As for her being banished to the moon...
Gods, don't get me started on that; I can envision all kinds of horrible scenarios. Only the Elements of Harmony prevented Luna from experiencing serious psychological issues due to sensory deprivation but even then, there are scars...
David will be walking through the palace with Luna and she's hit with a flash of memory, or a flashback; her eyes glaze over and she'll wander in a random direction; David has to coax and guide her gently so she doesn't bump into things and hurt herself; it's like she's suffering a kind of mild dementia or mini-stroke... :(
She'll converse with ponies that aren't there anymore, needing to be gently coaxed from doing so... :(
She and David are hardly seen because everything's far too bright to her too-sensitive eyes.
When she does make an appearance, David has to support her, especially in Court; it's all she can do to withstand the (too harsh!) gentle brushing of her coat by others passing by and the (too loud!) quiet voices of others :(
Not to mention the further isolation she suffers as she studies - and looks down upon from her tower - a modern world that... well... (she believes) really doesn't need her anymore... :(
Nightmare Night... enough said. Really, really despised Pinkie and the foals in that Episode... :(

I can't honestly say between Season 1 and 2, which is my favorite. Though, I think I'm a bit fonder of 2. I have to say, I love the season finale. As Rarity said in that two-parter, "Cadence is an absolute gem." And I'd have to agree with her. But I also love Celestia's lengthy roll in that episode. I watch "A Canterlot Wedding" and "Lesson Zero" whenever I'm about to work on "You Brighten My Day" so I can get a nice dose of Celestia from both. Now, getting back on target, I have to agree, Cadence's voice is right up their with Disney's Ariel. Such a soothing and heavenly ringing voice. I could listen to that ballad over and over again. The part where she sing's about her feelings for Shining Armor always gets me in the feels. And I love the part where Cadence joins with Shining Armor. The instrumental music played there is so beautiful.
Now, to answer you question... I can't determine who my favorite princess is. I love Luna deeply, but the same is true of Celestia, but at the same time, I can't forget Cadence or Chrysalis. Thank goodness I have a heart roomy enough to care about them all. But I guess Celestia would be tops and is currently tied with Luna as my number 1 princess.

I don't feel like going off on a tangent at the moment, but I share your compassion for Luna. It's a shame it happened, but I don't blame Celestia for it, both sisters paid a heavy price. I just hope to give them both a chance to put that behind them. And like you I'm drawn to Luna because of her troubled past and the fact that she has a great chance for redemption. That's why in time, I want to do a Nightmare Moon story. If you want to have fun torturing me with snipits from that story (which is still in planning), you can. I do have a name for Nightie's lover. He's going to be called, Jonas. I'm still working on his character. I know why and how he'll be in Equestria, but I need to work on his attitude towards being there (though he's going to be very similar to David and Daniel), but he will have some traits all his own. He's going to find something captivating about Nightmare Moon, and work his hardest to reach her, plus he's going to be a lover of the night itself to begin with. Clad as the Phantom of the Opera - as Jonas stood upon the stage whilst the gathered ponies crowed for more music - the human raised a hand for quiet. "Well..." he stated, "I... do have one more song I can sing for you tonight... but I'm not sure I should. This last song is called 'The Music of the Night' and it holds a magic all its own. The song's magic is so great, so powerful... that legend says it can be used to summon and calm Nightmare Moon.
At the name, the crowd gasped and Jonas nodded. "Bah! That's horseapples!" crowed an Earth Pony from the crowd. "Humans don't have magic!"
"But they do..." Jonas replied. And then, he began to sing. No sooner had he begun the enchanting song, then up in the Celestia gasped as she realized her beloved sister had vanished!
Even as she thought to raise the alarm, a thick, eerie mist began to fill the music hall; then from that mist she came unto the stage, hissing, rearing, snarling at Jonas: Nightmare Moon! Jonas, however, did not seem alarmed; on the contrary, he just kept singing, directing his lyrics not unto the audience, but to the Dread Mare herself.
And ever-so-slowly... ever-so-gently... the jet-black Alicorn became curious, intrigued... and then enraptured by his gentle song. By the time he was done, the two were kneeling on the stage before the utterly shocked audience and Solar Diarch, Nightmare Moon upon her side with his head in her lap, snuffling and nuzzling into him, a thick lump in her throat, her eyes foal-like and misted with joyous tears...
