The Restorative Property of Pony/Jericho's Walls Reaction/Milestones · 1:43am Mar 19th, 2012
So as I mentioned previously, I managed to get a ticket for the Scottish League Cup final between Celtic and Kilmarnock yesterday ('tis Monday now). Needless to say my first experience of a cup final at Hampden was a rotten one and Celtic somehow conspired to lose - throwing away the chance to win a rare treble. Naturally this filled me with a sense of ennui and left me feeling somewhere between 'meh' and down.
Thankfully I had yet to watch yesterday's episode.
On viewing this my mood lightened - something the post-match beer and bourbon failed to do. Even though life of late has been pretty fantastic it makes me glad that I found this show back when I did. Sometimes it is the simplest of pleasures that can cheer us up the most.

It has surprised me a little how strongly readers have reacted to Twilight's outburst. Not in a bad way by any means, but surprise nonetheless. I can see where it comes from - it was almost unceremoniously dumped on both Applejack and you the reader.
I can reassure you all that Twilight is not gonna go Nightmare Moon on everypony for this, and the resolution shall be relatively peaceful. Her reaction shall be hopefully clarified - like I said on a comment Twilight Sparkle seems the most emotionally volatile character to me and I will expand on that in the next chapter. Such volatility seemed to me like it could explode at a moment's notice. The reasons for her venting just haven't been examined yet.
No spoilers for now though - not even the chapter title. Like the last it kind of indicates ahead to what may happen (the walls of Jericho were brought down by horns after all).

The view count across all chapters of The Sweetest Cider has ticked over 10000 recently. The first chapter alone accounts for very nearly 2000. That is without the exposure of being on Equestria Daily (which I'm sure won't happen) or being featured at the top of the page for all that long (it was about a day if I remember correctly).
Even though the numbers aren't that enormous by some standards and I'm probably talking out my backside I am still pleasantly amazed - when I set out to write I didn't imagine it'd get the overwhelmingly positive response it did (though two people did change their ratings after the last chapter - c'est la vie). Not to mention that it's my first crack at a fan fiction of any hue. I'm certain there are superior fics to mine that I've read which didn't have half as many views as mine has garnered.
Nevertheless, thanks for all your support (makes the desire to write well all the greater) and I hope to continue to be able to satisfy you all with the tale of Rarity and Applejack, and whatever else I may choose to write - not that The Sweetest Cider is ending any time in the immediate future.
You wrote a story that people enjoy, you deserve it (and I for one can't wait to see what happens next chapter)
