Story Idea 02: Jealousy Considered

This is for story ideas anyone can use and modify however they wish, just be creative and thoughtful I guess.

This one might have been done before, but maybe not in the angle I'm thinking here. Few years later setting (or however you want to view the chronology, might not be that long a time), Spike is a bit more mature and his affections towards Rarity are actually being taken a bit more seriously by her. Could also be that her other interests did not turn out well (Fancypants *cough*), but adding that and how one might do it could help or hurt the story. Either way, Rarity is more receptive to Spike who is still trying his best to win the affection of his love interest.

But this is not a Spike/Rarity story.

Rather, this would be a focus upon the others of the Mane Six. Each of them, seeing the development of an actual relation between those two and Spike's new-found success after pining for her for so long, the other single five each start wondering why they don't have a relationship, why no stallion has pined for them the same way, maybe a few even comparing Rarity to themselves in some questionable ways. Definitely would recommend a single discussion, likely over a meal, where general, nice-hearted discussion of Spike/Rarity leads them to realize at the same time this question of 'why not me' (though each having their own version of that question) and they quietly ponder before ending the discussion and splitting a bit solemnly. From there, going into each's situation, story, thoughts, experiences, failures, so on and so forth. Would rather not give ideas here, better to see what creative minds can conjure. But here is the base to build upon.
