Is this thing on?

So if this in fact works and you are here, welcome! I'll be using this to make comments about my stories as it has become apparent that it's pretty much impossible to get every little detail in there. Also I can explain my deviations from canon before you can form a pitchfork and torch mob to come after me. So without further delay.

First the title of chapter one. That is not a typo, it's a quote from As You Like it by Shakespeare. All the title chapters thus far are from his plays and I'm planning them all to be.

Second, this is not all of chapter one. I had to split it into two when it became obvious I was otherwise going to be dealing with a monster. When I edited this chapter it already took me an hour to go through it line by line, I'd go bonkers if I had to do 7,000+ words of that at a go.

Now to avoid the pitchfork and torch mobs. Twilight Sparkle did not and does not need to work at a strip club and it in no way comments on anything. I knew that I wanted her in a menial job but the actual inspiration was a news blurb about a federal law proposing to ban welfare cards in strip clubs among other places. That brought the idle thought of 'how would a pony strip club work, they're naked most of the time.' Twilight is the undisputed master of the self-fulfilling prophecy and I simply view this as taking it to its logical extreme.

Shady is not in fact an OC, she's a G1 pony who had a name I thought worked and therefore got drafted into the story for this bit. I have to confess though that her scene continues to nag me. I can't put my finger on why but I just feel it doesn't convey what I have in my outline for that scene, it went through lots of revisions. But I plan to update every Friday and I kinda ran out of time with that.
