BronyCAN is official. Canada has its first major brony convention · 2:26am Mar 27th, 2013

Its official, BronyCAN is taking place in Richmond, BC, Canada on August 24-25 at the Executive Airport Plaza Hotel and Conference Centre. All the information is available at BronyCAN.

Its exciting to have a convention happen relatively close by and I can't wait to attend. Huh, I guess this will be my first brony convention. A new milestone in my brony experience.

On a side note, if bronies are loving, tolerant, patient, and kind ... is it possible to distinguish one from an Canadian? And what do you get when you mix the two together? Hmmmm....

You obviously get one of the most polite gentlemen on the planet, and it's great to hear a primarily American/European brony event is happening in our happy little country of the Maple Leaf. Also, glad to see you're still around, Jake.

What's up?

:pinkiegasp: Steel! :pinkiehappy:

Its so wonderful to hear from you after all this time. I must apologize, I am horrible keeping in touch with friends at the best of times and the last several months have been anything but the best of times. Mostly I've been fighting my procrastination while at the same time trying to finalize my final research project report so that I can finally finish school and graduate (what can I say, I'm a self-labelled "procrastinating perfectionist" (c) <- Yes, I have claimed copyright on that phrase :derpytongue2:). Not to mention, I also need to find a job. Egh.

Between work, procrastination, and social events, I don't think I've had the opportunity to read any stories on FIMFiction in that time, which pains me greatly as there are so many wonderful stories that I need to start or that I need to catch up on. Well, I guess that isn't exactly true; I have been putting a lot of my spare-time working with Kaldanor editing his "From Scratch" story. Its great fun and rewarding to know that I've found one small way of giving back to this wonderful and creative community. I know I've said this many times before, but I must thank you for giving me the opportunity to edit the first few chapters of your story and also for recommending me to Kal. If you ever need my services again, please feel free to ask. I'm particularly interested in returning to your two stories, "Spike's Writer Block" and "Old Stories, Older Curses," to see how they have unfolded in my hiatus from the site. Now that I think about it, I kind of miss all the subtle details you include in your stories to make the characters authentic and come to life. I still remember the book fort that Twilight creates in Spike's story. lol.

Well, other than that, not much has been happening with me. I'm definitely still kicking around the brony pastures, though its hard not to stretch myself thin. I've got a few Tumblr Ask-Blog story-lines that I've been following, as well as a couple musical artists on YouTube and SoundCloud, a few brony radio plays, and a few deviantArt accounts. Unfortunately, those too have been neglected over the last couple months due to the previously mentioned issues.

I've also just recently started chatting with another Canadian brony on FIMFiction, Explosive Orange. It seems we both enjoy having deep, meaningful discussions about the show and the fan-works, but neither have brony friends with which to converse with.

This summer looks to be exciting as I have already finalized my plans to visit BronyCON in the USA. Its a graduation present for myself. Unfortunately, I made those plans before I knew about BronyCAN in Vancouver. I'm hoping I can managed to make it there as well this summer. Are you planning to attend BronyCAN?

By the way, you probably already know about "Double Rainboom," but just in case you haven't, on March 30th the first completely fan-made episode of MLP:FiM is being released online. Obviously, it is called "Double Rainboom."

How have things been with you over these last several months? Anything interesting happening?

 Thanks again for your message. I can't describe how wonderfully surprised I was to see your comment on my post; it brought a grin to my face. I'm hoping to finalize all my school work by the end of April, so there is a good chance you will see and hear more of me in May.

P.S. I sure hope A.J. has gotten over her urge to buck you in the jewels whenever she lays eyes on you.

You know, it really didn't seem that I wrote that much when I was writing the previous post. Though, it now looks more like I posted a letter instead of a comment. I tend to be verbose at times, sorry. :twilightblush: I promise to include a table of contents and divide it into chapters the next one. :rainbowlaugh:

:ajbemused: "We still ain't talkin' much."

But I think we've made progress, haven't we?

:ajsmug: "Spend a few months hangin' around with you? I suppose we've made some progress."

Oh, come on. You aren't trying to kill me anymore.

:applejackunsure: "Ah think the AJD is doin' that for me, honestly. Jus' how much alcohol can you drink?"

Um...

*Steel turns around to stare at the tower of glass bottles he built in his boredom, 40 bottles strong. Several have the silver sticker '80% ALCOHOL CONTENT' from his special order from AJ.*

Riffing's hard...

:ajbemused: "Yer gonna kill yourself on this stuff, Ah swear."

It's either that, or read the worst stories in the world with absolutely no defense for my mind.

:ajsmug: "Danged if y' do, danged if y' don't."

Well put. As for what I've been doing?

:applejackunsure: "Riffin', fer one. Then school... weren't you studyin' at one of them fancy colleges?"

Yeah, I was. Nearly done that one...

:ajsmug: "Then there's yer writin' which haaaas... kinda ground to a halt."

Hey! I'm starting up again!

:ajsmug: "Heh, yeah, 'startin' up again'. You used t' be a writin' machine a few months back."

Yeah, well... school and everything. Kinda drags away your inspiration.

:applejackunsure: "Ah am wonderin' about that first story y' did though. The firs' few chapters were complete nonsense, but you did do a good job after they headed into Rainbow's dreamscapewhateveritis."

True... may just end up continuing it, really. No reason not to, and it's such a massive fic that a rewrite would stop me around Chapter 4.

:ajsleepy: "Better bunker down then..."

Ohhh yeah.
