Twixie has uploaded the first part of The Sparkling Reflection of Princess Rarity!
It's, as somepony described, a "parallelquel" to The Warm Diary of Twilight Sparkle. Picking up right as Rarity buys the soul gem, it follows her exploits and adventures when things start going south. It's narrative is... interesting to say the least. While The Diary was heavily inspired be Howl's Moving Castle as many of you pointed out, this story is more mature at times.
When I think Miyazaki, I think grand adventure that brings you back to your childhood. He's very magical in that way. What this story attempts to do, is bring the magic of childhood to something tangible to us as adults.
Each of these stories tries to capture the essence of the title character. While Twilight is a very innocent, loving, almost childish pony, Rarity feels much more mature and thus deserves a story with mature themes. Expect romance and expect darkness and expect the unexpected.
