Not back as quickly as I had hoped

My apologies for not posting a blog sooner. A lot has happened in the past two months. I didn't have a lot of time to go into details with my last blog. But I had been in the process of moving to a new home and I moved in mid July. Sadly, it was anything but smooth. I won't bore you with the details, but long story short, I'm moved and am in the ongoing process of unpacking and settling.

So many crazy things have been happening, even before my last check in around Mid-October. If I told you everything that was going on, you'd think I was exaggerating or something. Salutations, my friends! ^^

It's been a little while since I last checked in. So, I thought I'd see how all of you are doing. Despite the endless challenges this year has brought. Time still seems to be joined with wings. My days currently consist of work, writing and dealing with challenges all the same. I won't bore you with the details as I'd rather bring you tidings of joy rather than those of sorrow. Besides,

An Unexpected Delay! · 1:52pm Mar 21st, 2013

Hello my friends. I'll have to keep this brief, and I'm sorry to say I have some bad news, but I do have some good news as well. Yesterday morning I found out my co-workers and I have to work the entire weekend this week. So no days off, and this means I'll be most likely working 12-13 days straight till I have a day off. I didn't think that was going to be such bad news to deliver, seeing as I thought it'd just be a bunch of 8-hour shifts, so I could still write, and celebrate my anniversary with all of you.

Now, here's where the real bad news seeps in. This morning, just around the end of my shift, I found out I most likely will have to go in early the next two days and work 7p-7a. Which means no time to write, no time for anniversary blogs, and no time to read new stories either. So, I'm going to have to hope that they don't need me in early both nights, and play things by ear. I know you all will stick with me during these trying times. And I will just have to space out some of my special blogs across the next few weeks.

Despite these set-backs, there is good news! My new story is coming along nicely, I have almost 2,800 words done, and that's after hitting a few snags. Thankfully I managed to apply my anti-writer's block techniques and got through both of them. And while I was at work last night, I got a great idea on how to start the next scene, which leads into the "heart" of my new story, but I don't know if I will get the chance to make any more progress for a while. It figures, whenever I start to get cooking on something, work steps in and steals my free-time. Oh well, as I said, I'll just make the best of this. It's just I love to write. For me, it's like how video games are to some of you.

Well, I'd better head to bed. Hopefully things will work out and I won't have to go in early. But either way, I'll get by this. I just wanted to keep you all posted. Thank you as always for your continued support and patience. I'll be sure to do my best! Oh, and I have two pics to share with you!

Oh yeah, before I go...I do sorta have a survey to share with you. What do any of you think of having a story element involving one of my OC humans aspiring to become a Knight of Canterlot? And I mean a knight, not just a royal guard. Your thoughts?

- Jaydex

I sort of feel like Celestia in this pic in regards to my own job, only mine is with boxes, not the paperwork of ruling a kingdom.

And here's a fun pic of Twilight. Fun Trivia fact - this was one of the many pics I considered for use as the cover of "For Whom She Sparkles" But I felt the other one was better...and cuter!

well good luck to you I'm still job searching for my first job and now I'm scared to get one.
inb4 Regidar

Then i shall wait patiently. If you don't mind me asking... what is your job. Seeing that you work at night, that must be something unique.

Sheesh, pal. They really work you to the bone over there, huh? :rainbowderp:
Oh Jaydex, ever so hopeful at all times :raritywink:

I'm dying to know what this secret project of yours is! There're so many possibilities and not enough confirmation!:flutterrage:

On the topic of your OC being a knight, I think that's a pretty nifty Idea. I'd enjoy reading about that, especially if it were an in-depth, SFW hero fic. I'd be all over that.

936082
Good luck on finding one, pal! The first time is always the hardest, just try your best and don't let the little things get to ya!

Pulling 12-hour shifts for nearly a fortnight? Jesus! I'm sure the job isn't too terribly bad by itself, but anything can be made worse by that kind of schedule.

I think having a Knight of Canterlot would certainly be interesting, because a guard is nowhere near the same as a knight in any sort of universe, imo.

Lastly, maybe you could share some of your tips to combat writer's block? Because I have a story I REALLY want to start writing, but every time I resolve to do it, I bug out of it even before I open MS Word! :raritydespair:

936308 Thanks for the luck I checked local job lists and couldn't find any that are right for me though I was hoping for Panda Express but they didn't hire me:pinkiesad2:.

A human becoming Knight of Canterlot? *thinks* sound awesome human becoming knight of caterlot.

And for Celestia picture: Sometimes I want to be at her side because of how hard is work is.

936371
We all know the feeling, pal. Like ARchy4288 said though, Don't give up on yourself or the job you really want. It's always harder to find a job the first time 'round, once you get one or the job, everything becomes much easier. Nerves are the primary source of failure when looking and interviewing, man. Just gotta learn to deal with them and keep your head cool whenever you can.

Just never give up and remember to Smile no matter what happens in your search.

I'm not sure about that knight thing, I'm think I'll get a equilibrium between dislike and like.
(I don't really know what equilibrium is, I just wanted to sound smart)

Picture One: Celestia's life before she met Daniel... :fluttercry:

Picture Two: Damn it, Jaydex... where do you find these pics of Twily that are so realistic and so damn cute...

Slave drivers! Hang in there.

937064
I'll make it. Thankfully my first 12 was cancelled, so only 8 hours tonight. Thank goodness. But the long haul will still be tiring, but I'll hang in there. No worries! I'm a survivor! :raritywink:

Picture One: Celestia's life before she met Daniel... :fluttercry:

That's my thought. In fact her being over-worked is sort of one reason I though Celestia needed a vacation. Now she'll have her special somepony to stroke her mane, scratch her ears and rub her belly. :scootangel:

As for where I find these pics...I find them on Deviant Art. There are so many amazingly talented artists on there, it's epic! :rainbowdetermined2:

936610
I know what you mean. She must be lonely, as ruler, even though she's always smiling for the public.

936525
It's just 2 12-hour days in the next 13, but thankfully the first was cancelled. So hopefully just one at most.

936325
It won't be a fort-night's worth of 12's just two, and thank goodness the first was cancelled, so only one 12-hour shift at most for right now. Phew.

I thought a knight would be a cool idea, just wanted to get some feedback from a few of you.

My techniques for dealing with writer's block are somewhat unorthodox. For example, last night when I was having trouble, I saved my Word doc, then picked-up my plush Twilight, and laid on my bed, and chilled with her, while I did some casual brainstorming of possible ideas for the scene, including some mental imaging of how I wanted it to look. It's odd, but since my Luna fic's beginnings, I used to rest on my bed with my small Luna figure and ponder my ideas, and for some reason taking those breaks from the computer almost always ward off writer's block and yield fruit in the form of break-through ideas. I'm not sure if they will help you at all. But they work amazingly well for me. It helps having a pony plush or figure of the character I'm writing about. It lets me feel connected to them in a sense, if that makes any sense. :twilightsheepish:

936308
Well my hope paid-off on the first night, even if it did come right down to the wire, but the first 12 was cancelled, just 8-hours tonight, thank goodness!

I'm sorry but the new story is going to be hush-hush right until it's posted. I want this to be a surprise and something, hopefully, original to a degree anyway. As per your comment in my other blog, I did think of wedding this idea with my other Twilight story, but there are some discrepancies between the two stories, and I have my reasons for doing a separate Alicorn Twilight story. You'll see once it's posted. :raritywink:

Right now I'm thinking of having at least two stories feat the OC becoming a knight, one will be a 2nd-person story and the other a 3rd-person, which will be far more involved. In fact it may be the basis for my Cadence romance story. So we'll have to see. But I doubt either will be SFW, you know me, I love writing romance with tasteful clop scenes, and tons of dawwww and feels. :twilightsheepish:

936205
Sadly, my nightshift job is nothing fancy, I just make boxes. The reason they work us so hard is because they never want to fix the equipment properly, and the machines break constantly or the products they run are of an inferior quality. :fluttershysad: But thanks to the ponies and you awesome followers, I have reason to keep pushing forward. My stories are my escape from reality. :yay:

936082
Don't worry, it's normal to be a little scared when you get a job to start. In time you'll adjust and it won't be so scary. Just take it one day at a time, and I'm sure you'll do fine!

BTW, Regidar doesn't follow me and has never commented on my blogs and only on a few of my fics.

Sorry for being nosy:fluttershysad:but what do you work in

937125
Yup. I go to work tonight. And although nowhere near as physically demanding as what you do. I have a new batch of guests to deal with.

Jaydex,

In fact it may be the basis for my Cadence romance story.

Wat? WHAT? Cadance romance????

937137
It's okay. I work in corrugated manufacturing making cardboard boxes. It sounds so mundane, but it can tend be very very grueling. I lug bundles of boxes of varying sizes and weights across conveyors onto a machine called a loadformer, then send out the finished units to head for shipping. :twilightsheepish:

937142
Guests? Do you work in a hotel or do security?

937163
:rainbowlaugh: Love your reaction as well as Dash's from "The Sonic Rainboom". Classic! But yes, I am planning a Cadence Romance. I made some reference to it a few blogs back, though it might have only been in the comments. In fact I may do two, a 2nd-person one-shot and a 3rd-person in-depth one, not unlike my Luna and Celestia fics. :scootangel:

937342 Dem humans get all the mares... Cue many, many jealous stallions glaring at said mares and their human mates... and then later, somepony attempts to 'do away' with Daniel, David, Twi's love, and Cadance's.... :pinkiegasp:

Said ponies are not amused. :twilightangry2:

And what happened then, well in Equestria they say.
The stallion population was reduced that day :rainbowlaugh:

937125 Those actually make a ton of sense. Too bad I don't have any plushes, and all the figures I own AREN'T of the pon(ies) I'm going to be using in my next fic! :ajsleepy:

Thanks for the tips in any case. :pinkiehappy:

937125...:facehoof: oh well the thing that scares me the most about a job is the taxes if I didn't have to deal with that I'd be happy

937342
Yes on both counts. 9/10th of my job is mind numbing boredom, the last 1/10th pays for all.

My gosh, there have been alot of blogs like this about how busy you are -- as ever Jayden, I tell you to relax and just do your best: I understand how much you love writing, and it is indeed wonderful that you really are expressive about it (:pinkiehappy:), but as before, we are not going anywhere...do what you need to do, and we'll be waiting for you when you have the time :raritywink:.

May I just say how wonderfully adorable this sounds? The idea of you clutching a pony plush while brainstorming ideas about a romantic story about them, is just ridiculously sweet :rainbowkiss:....and it seems to work! :yay:

The idea of a human becoming a royal knight....sure, why not - if that's the basis for your Cadence story, I can see why you would go that route...of course, he doesn't have to be a knight, but Cadence and Shining Armor are so wonderfully archetypical, that I can see why you'd want to go that way as well - having him be her hero. As before, you don't have to go that way....Daniel wasn't a Knight, and yet he still managed to be with Celestia, but I can understand why'd you go that way with nuestro amor, Cadence

Please relax, take you time, and know we're all here waiting for you :heart:

Awwwww,man that's :raritycry:

At least there are the good news:pinkiehappy:

937125 Hehhe, yeah. Ponies can make you smile every day! Like this: :pinkiehappy:

That human knight thing really doesn't matter (very few things actually do matter in fiction) due to my indifferent nature to a variety of goodness-only-knows-what.

But seriously dude,

No worries! I'm a survivor! :raritywink:

Way to put Destiny's Child in my head!

936817 Well allow me to enlighten you:
