    🏳️‍🌈

It's genuinely so surreal coming back here half a decade later. Like, girl, I've kept up better with my Runescape fanfiction than my MLP fanfiction. What's going on over here? How's the community looking?

Flashes on the Horizon Posted, As Promised!

Well, sorta. Being the attention-grasping goblin I am, I'm not going to submit it properly until it gets accepted by EQD.* It's a little trick to get extra views that just might this time land me on the Featured list!**

    Back on Track

RitB resumes very soon. I've been pretty crazy busy, but I'm setting a new goal. You're all witnesses. I will complete Rats in the Belfry and start posting another work besides (or finish editing Fresh Timber, whatevs) before Everfree Northwest! That is my solemn oath!

As Celestia is my witness, I'll never go hungry again!

Fresh Timber - Where doin it man

    where MAKING THIS HAPEN

That's right--I'm gonna start editing Fresh Timber for the first time in a good time. It's time to clean this up. I've been working hard on Peace or Harmony, but Fresh Timber's right there, starin' right at me, all like "dude, what about me" and I can't let that dude down.

Merriwether Williams - Why The Hate?

Merriwether Williams is a show writer--writer of the controversial "Mysterious Mare-Do-Well" episode. Since then, she hasn't been able to catch a break. Some of her episodes, like "Dragon Quest" and "Wonderbolt Academy", get nitpicked until a proper flaw can be found. Others, like "Hearth's Warming Eve", just get ignored, because they're honestly good episodes and people don't want to acknowledge

Update: Or The Reasons There Ain't Been One · 7:27pm Mar 19th, 2013

So a while back, I said I was submitting Rats in the Belfry and City of Brass to EQD. I said I wouldn't post any updates to the former until it had been either accepted or declined. I Pinkie Promise'd that I would immediately begin updating Rats in the Belfry as soon as I got my response.

It's been over three weeks.

I've kept my promise.

See, Rats in the Belfry hasn't gotten a response yet. EQD doesn't review according to an actual queue, so I'm still waiting. I'd hoped I could finish Rats in the Belfry before Script Frenzy, but it's clear that's not gonna happen now. So it's gonna have to go on a hiatus come April. If anybody's actually been waiting, I'm sorry. I really wanted to be able to wrap things up so I could focus on my script, but the EQD prereaders have been sluggish of late and my story is clearly one they're putting off. For whatever reason.

With any luck, Rats will soon be declined for good (or accepted, though that's starting to look unlikely), and I'll be able to get at least one chapter up before April. I've enjoyed writing chapters 9-13 a great deal and I look forward to uploading them.

Oh, also, I have a new story I'm working on called Flashes on the Horizon. I may try to upload it soon to make up for the lull.

In the meantime, cheers.

Why do you figure it's likely it'll be rejected? I think you've tried really hard on it and it's really great.

932304 Well, in my experience, delays generally mean nobody wants to have to go over the story. That's often why I delay reviews, when it's not just laziness. :raritywink:

I'm not trying to be the "forced pessimist" who assumes the worst so he can act all humble when his story gets accepted/get extra pity when his story doesn't. I'm just a little skeptical that my story's gonna go anywhere. Still, I can always hope for City of Brass.

934035 Don't worry I didn't get that vibe from you at all.
