Well, I figured this day would come back around again, as it has only a few times before, but each time more costly and devastating than the last.
There's...going to be a pretty long delay for the next chapter of...well, ALL of my active stories.
To put it short and simple, my computer exploded. The OS became self-aware last night and annihilated itself, completely erasing EVERYTHING from my hard drive.
All of my schoolwork? Gone. All of my pictures of THE best pony? Gone. All of those unfinished, unrevealed stories and chapters? Gone.
Gone for good.
All of them.
I am currently typing this from a backup computer while a brand new OS is being installed my normal computer. I don't want to go into anything too lengthy as I am already very frustrated with current events, but it is going to take me quite a long time to get back up to speed, especially with all the schoolwork and writing that I lost in the catastrophe.
But fear not! For my editor proves himself to be not only as a great friend but as a great ally! At first, I wept at the thought of knowing that all of the hard work I put into the newest chapter for MoM, which was sitting on my hard drive, would be no more. I spent nearly a month working on it, and I imagined myself, devastated, weeping silently into the soft bed sheets that grace the side of my work desk while the ominous voice of Fluttershy's own lullaby twirls through the vacant air into my careless eardrums.
But then, Sir Serene Breeze, knight of Equestria, came before me on a golden steed, bearing joyous news of artifacts concealed upon his desktop. Within it lay the edited version of the chapter, as well as the half-edited version of another story I am writing, both appearing as good as new!
Serene Breeze, I knew you would be a great friend just as you are a great editor, but no more will I re-enter into such a mad state knowing that I can't always count on you!
TL;DR: Computer apocalypse, loses A TON of important files, Serene Breeze saves the day...a little.

Again, guys, you won't see anything from me for quite a while, as I have a lot of things to take care of now that most of my stuff has been erased and is thus unrecoverable. But don't worry. I won't leave you all hanging! I will work on the chapters whenever I can and do my best to deliver what you all deserve!

Yeah... I don't know where I was going with that one. I'm glad I'm a kleptomaniac and pack rat when it comes to written files and data (I still have my original programs I made a year and a half ago for my first comp sci classes), or else this might have been a bigger disaster than a total hard drive meltdown!
In all seriousness, we're all here for you man. Take whatever time you need, just don't let the problems weigh you down. Stay the same awesome writer we all know and love

All I can think about is you still having to provide me an answer to why Nurse Redheart and Fluttershy are 'sisters' in your story.
A lot of writers suffer for the same reason, I think the ponies are trying to send a message.

I can't provide much of an example except by comparing it to the fanon romance between Octavia and DJ-Pon3. One day, a few people thought they went well together, and thus, after gaining some support and notoriety, it was made so (in the eyes of the fans, anyway, as I doubt that Hasbro would go so far as to do it).
I made Redheart and Fluttershy sisters for the same reason. Fluttershy looks like somepony who could have had a sister, and, at the time of writing it, Redheart seemed to fit the caring bill, and thus, I made it so!
Besides, it's my story, isn't it? My brain, my rules!
This is the sort of thing that I'd have nightmares about, if I ever remembered my dreams. Which is why backups, backups, backups, man. Glad you at least got some of it back.
914011 Well I have no love, much less tolerance, for ANY like-gendered fan-made pairing regardless of what the movie/programme in question is so I cannot support Octavia and Vinyl being in love.
I also don't think very highly of a sisterhood between characters in MLP that isn't confirmed (unless it's Cloud Chaser and Flitter whom seem very likely to be the other's sister) but I do accept that it's your story and you say what happens.

So, I'm assuming you didn't try booting with a portable copy of Linux to recover your files? When Windows goes belly up it doesn't tend to take the file system with it until someone tries to reformat before or during the reinstall.
Edit: Ew... Two days after the fact, I'm guessing it doesn't much matter anymore.

Two words, Hive, Drop Box. Well, technically Dropbox. What's Dropbox, you may ask? Just a simple lifesaving cloud backup software/service.
Just go here, download the software, set up your account, and save your creations in the Dropbox folder in your [User] folder (Windows Vista and up). The best part is that the files you put there are both saved locally on the computer and remotely on the dropbox server. You can even set up drobox on multiple computers (as many as you want, as far as I'm aware). This should help avert the next PC apacolypse.
Oh, did I mention it's completely free for 2GB of space? And there are other things you can do to gradually ad mroe and more space to your dropbox capacity without putting out money (the fastest way to do so is to just pass them the plastic, but it's very well possible to do so for free; you can get a TON of space through referrals; yes I used one in the URL, bite me. lol)
