Anyway, and now for a teaser.... The opening for the first chapter!
(“Get Away!” adrenaline pumped through my veins as my voice screamed into the desert. The near silent sound of wing beats drowned beneath the thunderous roar of the snarling beasts chasing me. With each flap from my wings the hot desert sand kicked up behind me, shrouding me in a veil of sand for a few brief moments. The large, red moon glistened in the purplish-black midnight sky, mocking me for my predicament.
Experience teaches to never look back, especially when being chased, but in this situation I couldn’t avoid it. I simply had to know how many of the creatures were after me. I rotated my head to get a quick glance. Behind me, no more than twenty strides back, a dozen darkly tanned creatures loped forward. Crawlers, that was my name for them, and these ones were hungry. Unfortunately for me, fate dictated that I was the only food source in this vast barren desert that stretched onwards as far as the eye could see. If I were to have any hope of surviving, I had to separate from the group. A quick glance at my surroundings, and I discounted the idea as an impossibility. In this endless desert, it couldn’t be done.)
I hope you all enjoyed the preview!
I am getting my computer in on Tuesday, and hopefully the cords and keyboard will arrive around the same time! My internet going to be installed on April 1st, so I hope I can keep to this schedule. Hope you all enjoy this massive piece of work!
Oi, I also gotta give a shout out to my new pre-readers, Big Joe (who I always call Jimi) and the super awesome GoG ToXiC.
