I return in triumph and with a slightly different user's name! · 8:25pm Mar 1st, 2013
So!
For the last three weeks, give or take, I was unable to log into Fimfiction. I tried everything I could think of, and then I tried everything my friends could think of, but nothing worked. Finally, I sucked it up and emailed the Fimfiction mod team for help. The best guess was that the most recent update to the site resulted in a bit of coding that really, really hated the apostrophe in my user's name, so I asked if my name could be changed to remove that.
So now I'm "Donnys Boy," and I can log into Fimfiction again. Yay!
Who are you? What have you done with Donny's?!
IMPOSTER!!!
The Donny I knew was possessive, not plural, are you sure you're not a spy?
Happened to me to. I was .Pinkamena, but the site hated the period at the beginning of my name. Since Pinkmena was already taken, I had to switch completely.
that means now we can get more twipie goodness from you.
Ha-HA! My suggestion worked!
As recompense, I demand one Appleshy fic! :P
So you had to go to the Mirror Pond to get back in FimFiction?
First they came for the apostrophes, and I didn't speak out
Then they came for the periods, and I didn't speak out
Soon they will come for the underscores, and there will be no one left to speak for me.
FimFiction in general just hates apostrophes, both code and grammar-wise. Except possibly in some of the better stories.
Welcome back!
That might explain why until now the little info box when you mouse over people's user names always came up with "user not found" when I would mouse over yours.
Welcome back! I had to switch from apostrophes to that little tick-mark below the tilde in all my stories' short descriptions to keep them from being mangled during mouse-overs. Some of them are still futzed, despite having fixed the originals. Take a look at the story-tag section of my blog page:

Yes, three of those stories are unreleased. Don't hold your breath.
I was wondering where you'd gone. I thought you'd done a me and gone on unannounced hiatus for half a year.
Return to normal amounts of Donny (sans apostrophe) = Happier Cloudy.

I cooked the real Donny into a stew. He was delicious.
878065
I am not at all certain I'm not a spy, no.
878070
Oh, that's a bummer. Sorry to hear that.
878085
Um. Yes. TwiPie. Right.
*hides the RariLight and FlutterPie stories he's writing*
878092
Does this count?
And thanks!
878097
Shhh. Pinkie told me that I wasn't supposed to let anyone know about the--I MEAN, MIRROR POND? WHAT MIRROR POND?
878100
*snort*
878102
My poor, maligned apostrophe! Seriously, though, I'm just glad the problem's fixed.
878126
Thank you!
878164
Yeah, I'm betting that's why. Others mentioned getting the "user not found" message, too, but it doesn't seem to be popping up anymore.
878167
Oh, that's a pain. Boo.
APOSTROPHES. WHY ARE YOU SUCH TROUBLE-MAKERS?
878173
Ha, no. At least, not an intentional hiatus, heh.
878208
And you didn't share? Monster!
YES.
Good to have you back, man.
I... I don't know how to feel any more...
878208 So... you made turtle soup?
878208
ogod, yes, that very very does count. I remember reading that one back when the prompt was put out, and that one made me just so stupidly happy
Welcome Back.
IMPOSTER!
I was wondering why you weren't writing any stories, especially after you announced your conversion to FlutterPie. Now all things can return to their proper alignment, and the balance of the shipping community is restored.
Glad you are back.
Such a weird thing to screw stuff up. But yeah, from personal experience, programming things to work with apostrophes and quotes is rather tricky actually, so I can understand the difficulties.
Welcome back! Lookin' forward to see what new literary candy you have for us. c:

HA!
878203
Aww, that's a nice thing to say. Thanks!
878263
Good to be back!
878316
Aww, I'm glad.
878353
Thank you!
878619
OH NOES! I HAVE BEEN DISCOVERED!

Next up oughta be some multi-chaptered FlutterPie in fact. As always, I hope it doesn't suck. *fingers crossed*

I don't know nothin' about programming, except from some super super basic HTML, so that's interesting to know. Really, I'm just glad something as simple as removal of the apostrophe seemed to fix all the issues.

>>Implying that Donny's Boy can write something that sucks.
Flutterpie huh? Sounds intruiging! :3
