...about a week before Thysa visited her aunt, during the invasion....
Watching the drones zip past their floor-to-ceiling window, Vinyl growled. "How dare they do this? Today! I have a gig at the palace!"
Octavia pulled her away from the extremely visible position and forced Vinyl Scratch to sit down. "Now Vinyl, we don't know who did this or what these creatures are, do we? Perhaps we should hide for now. I'm sure the Royal Guard will take care of this."
As if to punctuate her claim, a pegasus in armor zoomed past their field of vision, desperately fleeing about twenty changelings.
"...or maybe not." Octavia corrected herself as the last of the pursuers slowed down and turned to look into their apartment. It grinned wickedly and made motions, calling up several other changelings, who all hovered outside, looking at them in a decidedly unfriendly way.
The lead changeling mockingly punted the window, making it crack and collapse, earning evil-sounding chuckles from the changelings hovering outside.
"Vinyl, stay behind me," Octavia ordered, glaring warily at the invaders.
"No, 'Tavi, you stay behind me," Vinyl ordered, pushing her out of the way. "I'll deal with these bastards."
"No, you stay behind, Vinyl, you don't know what you are dealing with here."
"No, 'Tavi, I'm afraid it is you who doesn't get the severity of the situation."
Octavia blinked and glanced at Vinyl. "Severity? You know that word?"
"Ouch, 'Tavi, ouch."
"Regardless," Octavia insisted, turning to glare at the window again. "I shall deal with this, Vinyl. I won't let you come to harm."
"No, really, 'Tavi, I got this, please just let me deal with it."
"Vinyl Scratch! I insist that you stay back and out of danger, I am perfectly capable of diffusing this situation if you were to simply let me do it."
"But 'Tavi, you don't understand, I can really... why are they flying away?"
Octavia blinked. "I'm... not sure. But—"
She was interrupted by a wall of red-ish-pink energy that passed through the walls as if they were not there at all and slammed into her and Vinyl Scratch, flinging them against the wall and thankfully doing little more than holding them trapped against it for a few panicky seconds.
When it finally faded away, the two ponies fell to the floor, gasping as their coats were enveloped in green flames, revealing a pair of female changelings, who groaned in unison and then turned to stare at each other.
"Wait... 'Tavi! You're a changeling?!"
"Vinyl?! You're a changeling!?"
"And you never told me?!"
"But how?!"
"I knew it, nothing is original anymore!" Vinyl-ing groaned. "That filly from the other day, Emo-something was right!"
"But... how? How long?"
"I don't know, okay? At least you play 'original' music, even if it's been played before, it wasn't a derivative."
"Vinyl, I'm talking about you being a changeling!"
"Oh."
The pair sat in silence for a while. Then...
"Wanna make out?"
"Vinyl! I have a coltfriend!"
"Wait, you're actually dating Hidden Tale?"
'Tavi-ling nodded.
"...he's probably a changeling too, come on, let's make out."

I have yet to encounter it for Celestia or Luna. Or Derpy for that matter
