World In Conflict Preview · 4:57am Feb 24th, 2013
"You're watching Equestrian News Network, I'm Thumbs Up.
Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the Treaty of Canterlot, the agreement that ceased all hostilities between the Human-Equestrian Alliance and the forces of the Griffin Empire, marking an end to the First Equestrian War. This morning, the Human Nation of Estovakia has seceded from The United Human Federation. Estovakia has been pushing for such action for some time now, saying that the idea of their people being subject to the whims of the Federation is going against their ideals. Despite an outcry of dissent, the Federation recognized Estovakia's status as an independent nation. In protest, the Nation of Emmeria has also seceded from the Federation claiming that the new Communist nation will return to its aggressive ways similar to those prior to the Human Unification War. Experts say that this marks the end of the Federation as a whole, and humanity will return to its former state of Independent Nations. Already the Griffin Empire has reached a trade agreement with Estovakia, along with beginning talks of a defensive pact between the two nations.
In other news, the Revolutionary group known as The New Lunar Republic has increased their activity in the North along the Griffin-Equestria border. Representatives claim that they are seeking new reform similar to that currently being employed by Estovakia to help make the lives of every being in Equestria easier. The Princess Council of Celestia, Luna, Cadence and Sparkle however have claimed the NLR to be a Terrorist organization, that they are sowing the seeds of revolt. We will continue to follow each of these stories as they play out."
This is the first look at my newest story "Equestria: World In Conflict", the Somewhat sequel, somewhat AU to "Equestria: Fires of Liberation". While I will continue to work on that story as well this one, and I encourage readers who enjoy Fires of Liberation to read this one as well.
While I didn't make it completely obvious in the sneak peek, it shouldn't be too difficult to figure out the basic plot based on the hints as well as the Story's name.
