Recently I made my first forum thread, my first forum thread within the Flutterdash group. FlutterDash fanfics in need of attention! is a thread for the purpose of pretty much what it is titled, a place to list FlutterDash stories that have gone about unnoticed or have received surprisingly few comments (I considered this as less than ten comments per chapter), So I advise all fans of FlutterDash to check out my thread, comment on the thread if you wish to, but most of all to check out the stories listed in the forum and provide the authors of the stories with the tips, critiques and praise they deserve.
Fanfiction Progress
I was once again busy this week, with little free time on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. So naturally I got little fanfiction done... but I did. Well, I did get Fanfiction written in everything but Openly Secret Date (sorry Nintendo Gal). Decent progress has been made on Kisses are Complicated and even The Shy Knight and the Rainbow Princess.
In regards to Kisses are Complicated, I've managed to complete the scene I was working on. This was only recently though, and feeling the need to edit and improve it myself a little, I have yet to send it off to Rated PonyStar. This, so long as nothing gets in the way, I should be doing tomorrow, along with my small adjustment to his first scene, which is only editing the opening paragraph really. What he's sent me so far is pretty darn spectacular.
As for The Shy Knight and the Rainbow Princess, well, let's just say I'll have something to send to Ugugg very soon. Let me be a little clearer with this though, what I have written is not the first chapter of the fanfic but something that will be included in the story. It's a little extra, though relevant to the fanfic as well as Magnetism, that will be included once per chapter, at the end of each chapter, with exception to chapter 1. As for chapter 1, I will be starting on that soon, don't worry. It is something I'll be sure to work on when my collaboration partners are busy writing up their scenes of the story.

Pre and Post Season 3 My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Opinion Game - Part 2!
Now then, today’s post is an interactive post, split into two parts. This here is the second part, the first part having been posted on the 3rd November, a week before season 3 aired. You see, I like making lists, and I also like seeing how these lists change over time, so I decided to make a game out of it. I listed my favourite and least favourite My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic episodes, pairings, songs, and characters just before season 3 and asked the readers of my blog to do the same. Now, with season 3 gone and past, I will be listing my favourites and least favourites of those categories and seeing how season 3 has changed my views and listings; hopefully all those who engaged in this game last time will do the same.
Speaking of which I will now thank KnoFear, MysteriousBrony, Noble Colors, FreezingShock, Der_Fur_Shur, and NintendoGal55 for all participating in the first part of this interactive blog. Also, for all those who did not participate in the first part, feel free to participate in this second part if you want to, just write down your lists and make note of how you think your likes and dislikes have changed with season 3.
Rules
* There are eight categories; your favourite episodes, pairings, songs, and characters as well as your least favourite episodes, pairings, songs, and characters. You can pick and choose how many of these you do and which of these you do. For example you could make your list for all eight categories or, if you don't like listing your least favourites, can chose to only list your favourites. If you are not into shipping or don't have any opinion on the songs you can chose to not list anything to with shipping’s or songs. Just please try to make at least one of the lists.
* In each list the minimum required amount is 1 and the maximum is 10. For example, if you have 10 favourite songs you type out 1-10 and list them in order of preference. If however you only particularly like 3 or 4 songs, and are neutral or dislike the others you can chose to only list 3-4 songs in order of preference. You are not required to list 10 of each option; however you cannot go above 10 that is the maximum number of places.
* While the list is limited to 10 places you can have your choices share places. For instance, if you like Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy equally you can have them share a spot. So the example would be: 5) Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy.
* There are no limits to how many characters you can have share a place and as such your list can simply be a case of, for example 1) Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack, Pinkie Pie.

To make things more convenient though, I’ve posted my original list of opinions, before I watched season 3, along with my new one so you can see how my opinion has changed. On the left side is my original pre-season 3 list, and on the right, as well as being in bold, is my post-season 3 list. I will also briefly comment on each list and its various changes. Only one season 3 episode was great enough, enjoyable enough, for me to place it within my top ten episodes and that is Just for Sidekicks. On the topic of season 3 episodes, I will say that Magic Duel came very close, placing just behind It’s About Time meaning it is now at 12th place.

To be clear, of the episodes that I consider poor there are only four five, the bottom five naturally. The other episodes are ones I consider average, but don't particularly like or feel they are all that great; they aren't poor but they are on the lower tier of my average rated episodes. Interestingly, while there is only one season 3 addition to this list, it has shifted a little in terms of places nine and ten, the addition of A Canterlot Wedding Part 1 due to my memory being rather foggy on the episode and, when looking back on it, almost every bit of praise for A Canterlot Wedding was for the second part.

In my original list on pairings I only included six ships. This was because these were the only ships I was confident in listing within my top ten, stating them as my favourite above all others. Now that I have had more time to think of it, I've filled the list of ten and gone about rearranging my top six a little (FlutterDash remains number one of course). All of these are ships I already shipped prior to season 3 but were one's I found tricky to place above the rest of my liked ships. I won't say much more on the ships other than explaining which ship is between which two characters. Heavy Weight is what I call the big, muscular pegasus so the following means HeavyLane (Heavy Weight and Thunderlane), BlossomLane (Blossomforth and Thunderlane), HeavyBlossom (Heavy Weight and Blossomforth). The rest stand as ScootaSpike (Scootaloo and Spike), DisPie (Discord and Pinkie Pie), DisLestia (Discord and Celestia), DanPie (crossover ship involving Dan from Dan Vs shipped with Pinkie Pie), RariJack (Rarity and Applejack), CheeriMac (Cheerilee and Big Mac), TwiMac (Twilight Sparkle and Big Mac), RariPie (Rarity and Pinkie Pie), SweetieSpike (Sweetie Belle and Spike), TwiPie (Twilight Sparkle and Pinkie Pie), SoarJack (Soarin' and Applejack), SpArity (Spike and Rarity) and of course, FlutterDash (Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash).

Magic Duel has made the TwiXie ship more plausible but it's still not one I'm fond of. Having seen a couple more appearances of the make no sense ships of DumbDash my dislike of it, along with the other pegasus shipped with their bullies pairings has grown. Finally, having come to dislike Spitfire (whereas before I just found her to be boring and uninteresting) my dislike of the SpitDash has increased to the point where it has made this list.

I love Winter Wrap Up but overtime I gained more love for the likes of Art of the Dress and sung conversation songs like The Flim Flam Brothers Song and Find a Pet Song. Also, when it comes to songs that you just can't get out of your head, Raise this Barn has it beat. You will also notice that I love the Babs Seed song as well, so despite a general lack of songs this season (until the finale that is), season 3 has done quite well for enjoyable songs.

Unfortunately for season 3, I wasn't impressed with the songs present in The Crystal Empire. I just found The Ballad of the Crystal Empire and The Failure Song short, boring and unmoving... though the reprise of The Failure Song, The Success Song, was quite nice.

Favourite characters went through a heck of changes but in the odd case of not being the result of any season 3 characters being included. Season 3 generally lacked new characters and the only one I really liked was The Tourist (actually named as Ms. Peachbottom but I've grown accustom to calling her The Tourist). Still, she wasn't good enough to make the list and so the changes are more due to how well other characters have been presented. Scootaloo and Angel Bunny were both handled well in Sleepless in Ponyville and Just for Sidekicks respectively, allowing Scootaloo to retain her second place rank and Angel Bunny to ascend to it. Likewise Spike was awesome in The Crystal Empire and Rainbow Dash was awesome in just about everything this season, and I really enjoyed both Applejack and Zecora this season. None of the other characters have moved places though, the presence of Queen Chrysalis and Chief Thunderhooves due to the other characters going up in rank. Twilight Sparkle is still best pony, with or without wings.

A Canterlot Wedding made me like Celestia to some degree, then The Crystal Empire reminded me why I disliked the character and with Keep Calm and Flutter On Celestia just went down and down... she's at least got a good singing voice, that I like about her (although her being an awful singer would have been hilarious). I was okay with Snips and Snails in Magic Duel, though that doesn't make up for their overall uninteresting and unappealing characters and appearances, same with how I found Owloysius nice within Just for Sidekicks but still remember him being a pivotal reason as to why I disliked Owl's Well That End's Well. Finally, I've never really cared much for Spitfire, feeling her presentation made her come across as nothing more than a mature version of Rainbow Dash, but Wonderbolts Academy just made me dislike the character. At the end of that episode they tried to make her seem better with a sudden change of heart but that just made things worse.
Ah yes, time again to go over how S3 has changed my feelings on my favorite/least favorite... well everything in regards to the show.

So I removed all the characters I found boring, and instead made this truly a list of characters I do not like, as opposed to characters I could one day potentially love (probably won't since FIM doesn't have the highest track record of revisiting one-shots but who knows) So Trixie got removed because she was actually entertaining in her episode and Lightning Dust got added because I just really don't like her, everything that annoys me about Dash without any of the payoff. For instance, she doesn't really go well with Fluttershy.

I really don't like this pairing at all and now DiscoShy is tied with TwiLestia for my NOTP.

Pinkie has my least favorite singing voice out of the entire cast and yet she sings the most often. Oh, and the short intro bothers me more now knowing that there is such an improved full length intro out there.

XD And for least favourites, I'm just going to leave that aside for now, because I really don't have least favourite anything, especially episodes or songs. Sure, I love some more than others, but when I don't love them, I see them as above average and still enjoyable. And they are subject to change since I hardly put them in proper order. XD
For least favourite pairings, I'm just going to chalk it up and say that I don't like GildaDash or GildaShy alongside the bully pairings. Other than that, I'm neutral or just simply don't ship them, while also seeing where some of them are coming from, but don't agree with. Least Favorite Episode: A toss-up between MMMystery on the Friendship Express and Too Many Pinkie Pies. Either way, Pinkie just annoyed me too much.
Favorite Pairing: Spilight, or Twispike. It's grown on me, although DoctorDerp is my second favorite.
Least Favorite Pairing: Fluttermac; my hate for said pairing only grows with the amount of Fluttermac fanart I see on DeviantArt daily.
Favorite Song: Smile, Smile, Smile, although the True True Friend song quickly Al Pacino'ed its way into my top 5.
Least Favorite Song: Find A Pet Song. It may sound ridiculous, but there's just way too much talking and not enough singing for me to like it. As a vocalist, I cherish some actual vocals.
Favorite Character: Fluttershy. Seriously, she would have to become Hitler for me to like her less. Twilight still holds that number 2 spot, though.
Least Favorite Character: Gilda and Lightning Dust. Both just plain suck, and neither was redeemed in season 3. Neither deserves it, either.

10) Just for Sidekicks was truly a great episode, and Corey Powell in general seems to be a great writer to have on the show. Here's hoping her episodes in season 4 remain just as good as her current two works.
9) It's a shame that Last Roundup got kicked off your list by the newer entries but it is great to see that Look Before You Sleep remains on the list, a rather rare episode for people to have in their top ten.
8) I don't know why but Sleepless in Ponyville didn't leave as strong of an impact as I was expecting. It's a good episode and stars my second favourite character as the focus but it isn't one of my favourites for some reason. Still, I can totally understand it being in others top ten lists.

6) I can understand if people dislike this episode, while it has its good points it certainly has its flaws as well.

10) According to the MLP Wiki the song is actually called Babs Seed, although Bad Seed would be a more fitting title and save people the confusion. As you can see I also love this song, the only odd point being how Scootaloo can sing now (which is disappointing, I liked the fact that there was a character who was bad at singing in a show where the characters often burst into song).
9) Funny enough I've been liking Art of the Dress more and more as of late as well.
3) While I felt all the songs in Magical Mystery Cure were decent, none of them felt good enough to be within my own top ten. I'd say the closest to being in my top ten would be I've Got to Find a Way, however it's a little too short and I felt those scenes would have had a sadder, stronger impact without a song.
1) This Day Aria is a brilliant song indeed. Here's hoping more villains in the future will have songs (although I'm kind of hoping for a character who dislikes singing, and that's more likely to be a villain if they appear).

On the subject of Discord, you actually bring up a good point along with a neat comparison of his possible role. The only problem is that there is a general lack of villains in MLP and Discord's powers are OP, even by OP standards... unless they reveal some trick to it like his powers simply being an illusion so strong that even he thinks he has those powers, or if a villain is capable of utilising Friendship somehow.

and without being a villain she kind of loses anything noteworthy or interesting about her.
5) In regards to Lightning Dust, that’s kind of the point of her character. She is Rainbow Dash but lacking the loyalty or compassion, possibly an example of what Rainbow Dash would have been like without her friends. I felt she lived up to her purpose, to be a parallel of Dash... also she has good villain potential.
3) Not saying anything on the placement of the bully pegasus, but in regards to Trixie, for myself her low positioning (but not low enough to be in my bottom ten) remains the same. They were doing good with how villainous she was in Magic Duel but then they reveal that it was just because of the Alicorn Amulet

. On the subject of DisLestia, as possibly the only positive thing to come about from Keep Calm and Flutter On, I have warmed up to the pairing even more than before due to the possibility of it working as a current day ship and not just a ship to have occurred in the past.

9) I like this ship but... I prefer it as a friendship, consider Rarity as heterosexual (not that I can't see her being with a mare I just feel it harder to do so), and am pretty darn devoted to my FlutterDash. So yeah, it's a likable ship but not one I ship.
8) Mostly the same as with my views on FlArity, minus the heterosexual part. I also feel the shippers are quite validated considering the support for it present in season 1 and Wonderbolt Academy.
7) One of the first ever MLP fanfics I read was a RariMac fanfic... I'm neutral on the ship.
6) I feel it could work, the two characters would work well together, but the matter of Spike complicates things (your older sister figure starts dating your crush, yeah, awkward).

3) Your point on not shipping the Mane 6 with anypony outside of the Mane 6 or Celestia and Luna has always been a little odd to me. On one hand it destroys any chance of straight shipping (a lot of Yuri love I guess), and on the other hand I dislike it when the ships play out like that. To explain, I love FlutterDash, TwiPie, and like RariJack, however I do not like seeing FlutterDash, TwiPie and RariJack all in the same story. It feels too convenient and makes the world of the story feel small and insignificant. That's just my take on things though.

To note though, I will only comment when I feel I have something to say, and my primary focus will of course be on additions that were more than likely affected by the new season (season 3 episodes appearing in your favourites or least favourites are quite obviously affected from having watched season 3). Time to begin with this reply then.

7) Hmm, I guess I can see why this episode would be in a least favourite list, it does lack a truly big wow moment to it. Its positive factors are also more subdued than other episodes, and take a while to appear.
1) This seems to be a common episode to have at the bottom. I'd argue that its faults are done even worse in Ponyville Confidential but that doesn't really excuse its own faults (for me though it just skims the line of being considered a poor episode... just).

9) Of all the songs in the season 3 finale I have no idea why this is the one that keeps appearing in everyone's favourite songs list. Perhaps I was too distracted by the lack of logic in the cutie mark meaning (Rainbow's is flying, not weather control, Rarity's is gem finding, not designing) to feel all the quality and enjoyment others have been able to take from it.

9) RariPie, a rare but lovable ship. Pinkie Pie is just so easy to ship characters with and darn it, my head-canon is that Rarity is straight. Why are there so many good Yuri ships for her (RariPie and RariJack). Also, these are the two funniest characters to have interacting, mostly because they are the two funniest characters in the show.
8) A decent enough ship and one I can understand and enjoy. I personally prefer it as just friendshipping.

In comparison to the likes of other admiration based ships such as SpitDash or SoarDash, I feel it is more plausible in the fact that Twilight and Scootaloo have regularly interacted with the ones they admire, and can understand how that might blossom into romantic feelings.

6) Magic Duel was certainly phenomenal, even if Trixie's redemption was rushed as could be (an episode on Trixie trying to redeem herself would have been a much better redemption and forgiveness based episode than Discord's).
5) Speak of the devil and not a fan of this one I can say. Season 3 seems to have crept into your favourite episode list quite a bit.

Yeah, I was surprised by my episode bunching too. 11-13 of favorites were from season 1 (Winter Wrap Up, Cutie Mark Chronicles, Bridle Gossip) and, well, it just sort of happened that way. A few days before you posted your blog, there were a couple Reddit posts that had a 'battle simulator' to sort your favorite episodes and favorite characters so this is what I got. Although I chose to go with what the sims gave me, I still find it interesting to look at as some comparative placements stand out a little just because I think something should be higher/lower, but comparing episodes directly, I'm not sure how much they'd move. Personally, I think my top ten is solid, everything in the next ten is sort of on the same tier, and the same for each tier of ten-ish after.
As for songs, yeah, sorry Pinkie. Though, I did enjoy the "You Gotta Share, You Gotta Care" and "Smile, Smile, Smile" songs. My favorite singing voices are AJ and RD, they feel the most natural to me (and have the same voice actress, no wonder). This is followed by Fluttershy and Rarity, then Twilight Sparkle, then Pinkie.
And as for our new overlord, Princess Twilight Sparkle, the Destined... well... I did really enjoy her character when I first started watching the show, I even had a hard time deciding if she or Fluttershy was my number two. But then I started thinking about the show too much and re-watched it for analysis, partially due to one of my friends absolutely hating on Rainbow Dash and blaming her for everything that ever went wrong in the show (gotta disprove the heresy with solid evidence!) and well, I realized Twilight was at fault for the vast majority of problems (mainly due to being the main character). That isn't the issue of her character for me though. It's mostly due to the fact that she developed into a character much like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory and although I like the Sheldon character in that set up, it felt really distasteful in the pony show as THE main character. This also makes me feel odd because my friends would describe me as the most absurd combination of Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle, which makes sense (physics degree, math minor, love of knowledge, teaching, over-explanative, reading, state athlete for football/sprinting/jumping/pole vaulting, obliviousness, ultra-competitive, etc.). Anyway... I don't hate Twilight or anything, I just happen to apparently have her one spot behind her brother.
