Hello everyone. I have been thinking of a fimfic lately that I have wanted to write that involves a character of mine from a different story that I am currently working on. Here is my character. WARNING: If I do decide to this fimfic, it will be dark and sad at the beginning.
His name is Toby Mason, and he is a ten year old human child. He is a very kind-hearted and caring young boy, but he is very nervous and shy around others. He is small for his age standing only four feet ten inches tall, he weighs only 100lbs, but he is in healthy condition. He has short brown hair that is curly all over, olive green eyes, and he wears eyeglasses. He gets bullied and teased by the bigger kids around his neighborhood and at school, but that does not change his caring nature to those he feels is good to him.
He lives alone with his dad, because his mom passed away when he was eight years old. Everything was going okay with him and his dad for a year, but soon the pain of not having his wife in his life caused the man to start drinking heavily, and becoming abusive toward Toby. He wasn't physically abusive to him, because he knew he could seriously hurt his son being much stronger and bigger than him. So, he constantly puts him down, and don't ever think about the consequences of his verbal spats.
My idea is for Toby to yearn for a new home, a new family, because although he does love his dad, he cannot handle living with him in the state of mind he is in. So I am thinking of somehow for him to end up in Equestria where he ends up meeting everypony and them taking him in. However, there are a few questions I would like help with if anyone thinks this is a good fimfic idea or not.
1. Should I make Toby younger than ten maybe in it? I know ten is a good age for a child, but will him being younger be okay too?
2. How should I make him end up in Equestria? One idea that popped in my head is for him to wish upon a shooting to have a family, and wish for someone who will love him.
3. How tall/short or big/small should I make him when he ends up in Equestria? I really don't want Toby to be taller or bigger than the ponies, because I feel they would fear him if he is, and I don't want him to appear scary or intimidating at all for being a human. Instead, being the timid boy he is, I want him to be scared of them at first, but they could see how innocent and lonely he is that they could calm him down and comfort him. So, i was thinking about either making him just come up to their chests or maybe make him smaller, what is better?
