My Thoughts On Episode 13 Of Season 3, Alicorn Twilight, The Fandom, And Everything Else That Seems Relevant · 7:18am Feb 18th, 2013
Where do I start? I personally don't know.
I'm frustrated, not just because of all the hate, but all the idiocy. I mean, sure, there are different opinions, but an opinion is just that, an opinion; not everyone shares an the same opinion(s). You can dislike, you can like, you can love, you can tolerate, you can hate, but it can only get you so far in the real world.
For me, I would rather put rational thinking ahead of my own emotions. Do I think the episode deserves all the hate it's getting? No, I certainly do not. Because it is what it is, and that's fact. Do I think it could have been better? Of course, but somehow, it just felt like it was different, because it was a musical episode with 6 songs, and I think that is what it was aiming for.
I find it funny that I knew that Twilight was going to become an alicorn, because she was in the makings of becoming an alicorn; she was Celestia's protege, she's the (unofficial) leader of the mane 6, and it's even written in her name. Twilight, by definition, means: "the soft, diffused light from the sky when the sun is below the horizon, either from daybreak to sunrise or, more commonly, from sunset to nightfall." Come on, do you think that seemed a bit fishy? I thought something would happen to Twilight, eventually, but I never thought it would be this soon.
We may not have seen much of what Twilight is capable of becoming a princess, and that's exactly why I would like those to keep faith in season 4, and the show in general, because we don't know anything about it, yet.
No matter how much someone complains, they can't really change anything when it comes to situations like hating a show, a fandom, an episode, or something like that; but, people love to hate, and I think it's a sad fact of life. You can have an opinion, but an opinion is only worth anything if it's a valid one. Even if it's valid, I've read flawed opinions before, that seemed logical, at first, but it's inherently flawed.
You can disagree with me, but it's my thoughts on this subject and I felt like writing it down.

Beautifully put, my good sir! I have high hopes for Season 4. Even though Twilight is a Alicorn and she reached her pique, we still have five other ponies with stories. Not only that, but we can now see Twilight as she evolves as a Princess. Yes, I'm a bit worried that the show will be unbalanced now, since there is now a Alicorn in the group, but hey, what are you gonna do? This tale of friendship is nowhere near over...
