Okay, season's over. I said I would of started a Cadance story sometime mid-season, that's not going to happen, the story is canceled. Instead I'm going straight into the much longer Luna story, which I'll hopefully be able to finish during the off season. It still won't start for a little bit.
Now for what I thought of the show. There is one thing we always forget, this show is meant to be light hearted. We can read increadably dark plots and meanings into it, but the makers of the show will always bring it into a light hearted direction. This has a lot of meaning beyond what's on the surface.
When we learned that Twilight was becoming an alicorn, we all thought of the worst stuff, because we are cynical people. The show isn't cynical. Twilight isn't going to abandon her friends, nor is she going to become an easy solve-everything princess. The show will simply continue as it always has and will always be great.
That said, holy musical batman, we had music all episode! Call it rushed if you want, that simply gives it more rewatch value. Overall I'd say this season was slightly better than the previous two overal, but somewhat weaker in a key aspect of characterization, at least of the main six.
