I have mixed feelings about the episode. I really liked the initial premise and the 'Destiny song' It was really funny to see the characters trying to do each others jobs and as each of them went back to normal I couldn't help but smile and felt like a really fun look back at these characters we have grown to love and what make each of them unique and interesting
However I think that should have been the plot for the whole episode. Or at least the first of a two parter. Twilight's transformation into a Alicorn felt sudden and hardly relevant. Then I started to cringe at seeing what was essentially flashbacks of the show to date. This was done terribly and felt more like I was watching a advertisement for the very show I was watching. The way the flashbacks were shown was boring and looked like something an amateur video editor would put together. It's been done better before. In the discord episode they showed flashbacks in a sentimental and quick fashion that made sense, I always kinda wished they did it for more then just Twilight and Applejack. But hence that would have taken away from other cool scenes in that episode.
The episode went downhill after that The reason for why Twilight became a Alicorn felt cheesy and it felt more like I was watching a show for little girls then it ever had before. Also of the 5 or 6 songs that were in the episode I only liked the Destiny one at the start. Please Celestia, never sing again.
So basically I will give the first half of the episode a 8/10. It would be one of my favourite moments in the entire show since season 1. Then the second half I would give a 3/10, it just became so flat and I stopped caring, until my disappointment that I will have to wait until next season to see just how Twilight being a princess will effect the show.
But that was well played Studio B, I am going to be waiting for the next season with a lot of enthusiasm.
So I guess my review balances out to a 5/10. Since it was awesome and awful at the same time within only 22 minutes.
Unlike most game reviews though a 5/10 does not mean I hated it, It means that I thought it was meh... average.

I saw the episode again while I was picking out bits for a best of season compilation video and in retrospect the bad parts of the finale are shorter then the good parts and I've decided that all the songs pre-aliicorn were awesome. So I have decided to raise my rating to 6.5/10.
I got a great fic idea from this episode. Because the shoved in Alicorn crap, the main focus of the episode, the cutie mark swaps weren't as explored as I wanted them to be. So I think I will start writing a fic, involving a short story each chapter about each pony trying to cope with having the wrong cutie marks.
I'm sorry to those who are waiting on my other stories, but I want to start writing this and see if it works out, because I think it will be fun to write. Whereas some of my other stories are starting to feel like work.
I need to sleep on it, but i see where your coming from.
rainbow with Rarity's cutie mark makes her G3 Rainbow Dash. also i feel like this episode is going to grow on us.
also i would give the episode 6/10 for songs. Do you know how hard it is to tell a story in song form!
