Final opinion on season 3 episode 13 (Yes this contains spoilers) · 7:35pm Feb 16th, 2013
I'll make this quick and without the usual rants I've been seeing from other authors.
1: I liked the songs in this episode
2: Everything happened way too fast (Twilight saving the day, re-writing the spell, becoming a princess and being declared one)
3: Liquid Pride
4: I liked the idea of switching cutie marks a lot. But like I said before, they rushed it too quickly along.
5: As far as I am concerned, Twilight is now immortal, and she is somehow not bothered by that....
6: The fact that everypony was happy when Pinkie Pie changed back made me smile.
7: We now have 2 pegasi, 2 earth ponies, 1 unicorn, and 1 alicorn. The balance of the elements have been damaged in my eyes.
8: I enjoyed appreciated loved hearing Celestia sing.
9: There are now 4 alicorn princesses. Let the teaching to be a princess begin in season 4.
10: The ending with Twilight just being shoved into being presented as a princess and she just rolls with if without panicking or becoming scared of what comes along with it. That is a pretty big pill to swallow, but okay.
Last thoughts:
Well, as I said, they put Twilight on a pedestal above the other elements... I know that the show revolves around Twilight mainly, but I feel that its wrong to separate her from her friends. Because that is what this development with eventually do.
One way or another.
But you know what. I don't completely hate the idea of Alicorn Twilight. I'll do work with both alicorn Twilight and unicorn Twilight. Like I said a while ago, I'll warm up to the idea and start coming up with "alicorn Twilight" story ideas soon. Until then, I'm on the fence with this whole episode. There will be many upset people in the fandom, but I won't be leaving the fandom or stop writing because of this, so no worries everyone.
And, as a bonus to leave this blog on an upbeat note....

I literally double
facehoofedfacepalmed at that.It was too much
I am totally fine with the idea of Alicorn Twilight in the show. I look forward to seeing how they adjust to the changes in the future. I also look forward to seeing what stories the authors come up with.
As far as my writing is concerned however, I do like Twilight as a Unicorn better than a Alicorn. So, I'll probably be clipping her wings in my stories. But yeah, seeing how every single story on Fimfiction is pretty much an alternate universe, I don't see a problem with it.
And yes, that last picture was too good.
All she was bothered about was not being Celly's student anymore. I mean, COME ON, don't ha think she'd be a little, tensy bit worried abut outliving her friends. And, so far as I know, she doesn't even do anything. I'm going to go sit in a corner and grumble with only my indigestion for company.
About your 5:
Well I think Twilight still didn't realize the big problem of immortal live ......yet.
well I don't see her becoming a princess coming in between her friends...
say you had a group of long time friends and one of them becomes the president... would that change how you look to that one friend or will you continue to react the same to that person... true friends no matter what changes in life will always be connected.
Glad i'm not the only one to think it was abit of a rush, or to short. Season final really needed to be two parts or something. They tried to squeeze way to much into 20 minutes. The rest of it was good, the music was good, the changed cutie marks was interesting and I think Alicorn Twilight is pretty cool, wont change my stories to reflect her as an Alicorn though. I like Unicorn Twilight better.
Haha, I didn't notice Gangham Spike, I was way too distracted by Vinyl
The pacing was way too fast for me, I feel like it should have been a two parts episode. I didn't know what to espect since that 'Alicorn Twilight' stuff, but I'm satisfied. There were so many ways they could have screwed that up, but they didn't, and I'm glad. Now I'm curious at what we'll see in season 4.
I agree with you on 2, 7, and 8. WAY TOO FAST!!! I don't see why they couldn't have put this into two episodes, like season 1&2's opening and finale.
