    Season Finale

Oh, woe is me! The terrible episode scared my poor brain, leaving me gasping for air as I regurgitated my dinner onto my keyboard.

    Mhm.

Oh, woe is me! The terrible episode scared my poor brain, leaving me gasping for air as I regurgitated my dinner onto my keyboard.

Mhm.

It was not that horrible. Apart from the show dynamic, which might be corrected in the opening to the next season mind you, it did not really screw anything up. And look at this.

See? It's a soul. A mortal's soul to be precise, ascending to godhood. It turns out that the elements are able to ignite divinity within their wielders. Now, that's interesting. Also, there is now an official alternative plane of existence, where gods seem to roam. And it looks like it has an actual, physical location! Look at this, when Twilight reappears on the mortal plane.

As she leaves the realm of gods, she briefly becomes a celestial object. Think about that for a second - there exists a separate plane of existence whose denizens manifest in the mortal realm's sky. Not only that, but they appear as their respective cutie marks. Remember the sun and the moon? Also, Celestia's song from the Royal Indiscretions describes events which can now be totally canon. She sang about the two sisters living in the sky, only to descend to join mortals down below - the episode makes the sky a tangible and real place. Exciting.

As for the actual coronation, it left everything out in the open. There was no mystery, no intrigue, no loose ends, nothing to draw my attention. The thing I love about ponies is their world and the stories that are spun within it. But because of the show's primary demographic, my thirst can not be satiated directly. I have to think, ponder about the meanings and search for alternatives that are still compatible with what the cartoon presented. Take the very first episode. It's packed full of bits of information that do not connect to anything else, leaving a general framework to be filled by viewer's imagination. Here, there is none of that.

The season ending is as elusive and alluring as a hammer-blow to the face.

Also, this.

They gave Luna golden jewelry. And a purple dress. Sigh. She looks like a friggin' clown.

It was not the worst episode ever. It was close though. The songs were too pop oriented, the story was forced, and dispite the best efforts of taleted staff, th premis simply prevented greatness.

Im sure that hasbro had a big hand in the issues. (hand up but= puppet) but they should back off mow that they have a new toy to sell, and the show aught to ho back to the way it should be. Good. I'm sure that Twilight will stay with the gang, in fact i think they will try to return this to as close to notmal as possible, simply to say, " teah we know, just ignore it and have afew knew memes and a song."

Oh well time for the show lull fic boom, lets go!

Have a good one:scootangel:

Wingboners? The were just happy to see Twilight. :trollestia:

We'll see what the future brings. Hopefully quality stuff.

sigh.
I am going to go with the Doctor Who quote.
"I don't like it."
For the entire episode i was hoping Twilight wouldnt get those damn wings. But no. Shee had to have perma-wingboner, just to rub it in.
Maybe if there was some buildup throughout the season i would come to terms with that. Instead it is like BAM! ASCENTION!
So awfully rushed, the story doesnt even make any sense to me.

The outfit they gave to Luna does make her look like a clown, but all the royals outfits were color schemed off of Twilight so it makes sense. Still you do make a lot good points here.....

OFF TO THE PONDER CAVE.

did you notice how princess Luna's tiara kept changing from black to purple and gold and how Celestia had a real crown and not a tiara?
