yup. Twilight is now an alicorn, and about a third of the brony fandom is flipping their shit.
Some predict it will end the fandom, others are probably screaming about leaving, to the second group;
WE DON'T CARE.
Heres the thing, if your a fan fiction writer and the alicorn thing is permanent, just work around it and set your stories either before the events of the finale, or just season 3 in general.
Edit: You could also work with the alicorn for more stories.
and if your saying your going to leave, then go ahead. You wanna leave, then stop screaming about it and JUST LEAVE.
art makers and song writers, think, you could probably use this for new songs, fan art, this isnt destroying the fandom, this is just one thing that can help some of it!

Here here. Personally I believe this could be a very positive change to the series. Really it's all a matter of what Hasbro does with it. Hell, it could be that the only noticeable change on an episode-to-episode basis is that Twilight doesn't need a cloudwalking spell to visit Rainbow Dash anymore. Everyone's expecting this to be a massive change. It's very possible the change will be quite subtle.
As writers, we're creatives. We're resourceful. We take what we have and spin stories from it. And Hasbro has just handed us a very large bolt of whole cloth to work with. How can this not be a good thing? You have reservations about the alicorn thing? Write about it. It's quite possible her friends share those reservations and it would be compelling to read about them.
