Changes and a Surprise · 2:31am Feb 11th, 2013
Source is apparently somepony named "madmax", but I can't find a DA page or anything . . .
Hi, everypony! I'm looking for opinions on a change I've got in mind for Lost Legacies. I'm thinking about posting the story by scene instead of by episode and updating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The pros and cons of this as I see them are:
Pros
+ More frequent updates = less fear that another huge delay is upon us
+ Readers don't have to set aside a whole afternoon to read an Episode.
+ Easier for marathon readers to find where they left off.
+ More shots at getting on the Featured bar (yeah, this one's pretty self-serving).
Cons
+ Reformatting the existing chapters will demand that the comments be manually reshuffled.
Still, I was planning to do that Con anyway by deleting comments from where they don't belong and reposting them as "(link to reader) said this on (date):" So, what do you guys think, bad idea or good idea? Post now or forever withhold obvious comparisons to Austreoh (my scenes are still longer than Imploding Colon's chapters, to put this in perspective).
Either way, next update is on Tuesday and it comes with a . . . surprise, and I think you all are very much going to like it. You're going to love what you see . . .
Later!
Reshufflin' comments? Yow that sounds like work to me. :P

Nah. It'd take me an hour at most.
815731 Of course... a lot of my comments are me respondin' to comments...
It hurts my lazy feels. :P
I'm perfectly content with going by episode rather than scene. Benefits for episodes generally being there's no sense of "reader amnesia" that takes place, which it tends to do with complex events and/or ideas if they're spaced out and not given all at once. If you were to do scenes, I'd worry a little about the frequency having an effect on quality. Quality over quantity, basically. Not to mention that having episodes lets you get everything assembled and allows for a lesser chance of consistency errors.
So, yeah... My vote is for episodes; the way things are now. I'm one of the people who doesn't mind waiting. You're not going to disappoint anyone (myself at least) if you take your time.
I prefer longer chapters, but that's just me.
Long chapters really fit the style of the story more, and then you have an interlude chapter of sorts. But If the short stories help you more, then go for it.
I prefer to read longer chapters personally. But the pros that you mention sound reasonable.
I'd say do what suits you even if it's only because I hate to choose.

Okay, looks like the votes are in. Old format stays, update is moved up to Monday afternoon and . . . the surprise is already up. Sorry, I couldn't resist. See y'all tomorrow!
