Just a quick update · 4:23pm Feb 9th, 2013
So, realized I never pointed this out, but on my userpage I've got a box just for the 'current progress' that I try to update after making any significant progress. So, if you are ever wondering where a chapter of a certain story stands, feel free to check it out.
So, Becoming On With The Night. Chapter is a bit over 7,500 words now. Still have 1 untouched scene, another incomplete scene, and one that I'm wrapping up. Not to mention I might be adding in one more small (hopefully!) scene before everything is said and done.
Would you all rather have one massive chapter? (looking to be 10,000 words or so once it's finished at this rate), or see it split into two parts? Curious as to the preference.
Well, back to writing I go, just wanted to let you all know that yes, this is still making progress. The slow speed? Blame Minecraft!
I usually prefer short chapters, but don't just take only my opinion into account!
I say split it into 2 chapters.

It's looking like I may be leaning towards splitting it, I think I have a good spot with which to do so. Word count is a hair over 8,000 now, and I still have 2 scenes to go.
I personally [try to] avoid chapters over 10k words. That's why I'm aiming at a 5-6k word goal for each chapter in my story.

My average chapter length, not counting the intermissions and such, is somewhere in the 4,000s. Splitting it up would prob put both of those segments above that count, lol. I think I've got a good spot to split it too. I'll figure it out once I finish writing the rest of the chapter I suppose.
810995 And I still wish I could write a chapter over 1000 words.
