Valentine Special · 11:33pm Feb 8th, 2013
So since it's Valentines Day and I've been in a major Dislestia mood, I've been working on a Valentines Day Special for you guys. c: You know the beautiful moment of their wedding in Distorted Worlds? Well did you ever about the proposal that lead to that? Well wonder no more~!
It's hard for anyone, least of all a chaotic creature like Discord to be a perfect, romantic gentlecolt for his special somepony, but convinced by the girls that a proposal can be nothing but perfection, he's determined to make every detail right. Fate doesn't see things his way as his special night with Celestia leads to a hilarious trainwreck of disasters, and along the way Discord learns perfection isn't the most important thing in making this a night to be remembered.(romance/comedy; either one shot or a two shot)
And here's a sneak peek to get you guys excited.
“There we are; I couldn't quite fix your horrid mane on such short notice, but I think you look presentable enough for this evening.” Rarity stepped back, admiring Discord like he was one of her displays. She held a mirror up to the spirit's face, and he carefully examined himself.
“Hmm...” To be honest, the spirit expected to be staring back at a bow and barrette preened coiffure or, something to equal bizarreness, and he was pleasantly surprised to see the mare had done quite a formidable job, and it was even to his taste.
She had brushed his fur at the top to create the effect of two clean bangs, and his toothbrush mane had been soaked in a moisturizer that made it as soft as a feather. His cheeks were cleaned of their chocolate stains from the earlier cupcakes he and Pinkie Pie had made earlier, and...had she combed his eyebrows?
His approval and cheerfulness faded the moment Rarity approached with a tie. “Creatures of chaos do not wear ties.”
“But you must look your best for the evening!”
The draconequus reeled back as if the mare was holding a poisonous snake in her grasp. To Discord, a tie invoked the same reaction. “Look, ponies, I'm quite certain Celestia will be suspecting something the moment she sees I'm actually attempting to be romantic. Do you have any idea how difficult that is for me? We don't want a tie[ to give away my entire sinister plan, now, do we?”
Amazingly, his hastily made excuse seemed to be enough for Rarity, who tossed the tie onto the table and made a few last pokes and pulls to his fur before declaring him fit for the evening.
Every pony beamed at him with pride, and a few of the overly emotional ones (such as Fluttershy and Rarity) grew dewy eyed and clasped their hooves to their chest. This day was going to make history, and for once, neither of the six were worried about Discord screwing it up.
Albeit, the draconequus had shocked them when he came asking for advice on romance (needless to say, Applejack and Rainbow Dash weren't the most skilled in that area) merely a week ago, but the fact that he did ask showed he was serious about tonight.
Discord had never been one for romance, despite how deeply he loved Celestia. Her idea of romance was to sit there and star gaze under a warm blanket. His idea of romance was to jump on a heart shaped bouncy castle.
“Don't worry, sweetie,” Fluttershy crooned gently as she pressed her snout to the draconequus's and gave it a gentle nuzzle. “You'll do just great tonight, and I'm sure everything will go perfectly. Have you practiced what you're going to say?”
“No,” the spirit laughed awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck with an eagle talon. “I figured that's something that just pops into your head in the spur of the moment.” The girls all released helpless sighs, just as the clock struck twelve.
I'm read that while I listened to this:
How interesting.
