You've probably heard the same thing over and over again; write write write!

At first, I didn't believe this stuff, but when I actually started writing I found out this was excellent advice. You need to write about what you want to write about, and don't worry too much about the quality or how well it will be received.

Sure, take measures to ensure quality, but just your little blurb here tells me you have a much better grasp on the English language than most of the users on this site. You'll do fine, as long as you don't plan on writing a troll-fic of some sort, or a Mary Sue fest, obviously. Don't let that turn you off from OC's though, the most popular fic in this fandom stars a group of OC's, so just make sure you do them right.

There's plenty of guides out there. I recommend the one linked in NTSTS's blog recently. Can't remember the name, but there's a link, and it is truly an excellent writing guide.

Not sure if you were actually asking for writing tips, especially not from an anthro clopfic author, but I think you should have confidence in your ability to write. I've seen far too many pages of people who've favorited my story where the only post is "I'm thinking of starting a story, any tips/does anyone want to read it?" but the post was from over six months ago, and there hasn't been any activity aside from favoriting and following since then.

In order to be a writer, you need to write.

Go for it :rainbowdetermined2:

It's like my brother told me "If you want to be a great writer, you have to be an even better reader".
If you want some ideas for a crossover story there's definitely a good long list of crossovers that have been tried, but never made the cut :
Sonic,
Godzilla,
Dust: An Elysian Tail (which if you don't know is a phenominal indie game on Steam with breathtaking graphics) ,
Power Rangers,
Digimon,
a Pokemon crossover with Ash Ketchum as the main character,
Captain America,
an Assassin's Creed crossover with Ezio Auditore, Desmond Miles, and/or Edward Kenway,

These are only a few in a long list of gooo things you could work with.

Honestly from what i have seen in the comments of the stories you and i have both read, you are very adept in the way of literature.
You read the story and point out errors for the author to fix.
In addition, the comments i have seen that don't have you doing that have you crafting theories based on what you have read of the story at that juncture. Theories that more often than not are quite close to what actually happens.
In conclusion, i see the makings of an author akin to the likes of Mark Twain in literary prowess. Fame? That is for you to decide.

Write a story.
See what comes to be as a result.

And i have not spoken this articulately since elementary school.
