Without wanting to give too much away, I thought it was great. Solidly written and animated, I got a sort of season-one-ish vibe from it in terms of its overall feel.
Of course, the whiners are already out in force. Now, there's nothing wrong with not liking an episode, it's when people criticize an episode for stupid reasons that bothers me. In this instance, people complained that the episode was "too simplistic", "filler" and "not enough drama".
Uuuh... I'm beginning to think some people have lost sight of the show's intended audience. And I'll give a hint, it ain't us. XD
Although I WILL say the complaining has been far less than usual, which is encouraging at least.

I just watched it, and liked it as well. Nice to see more of the pets. I thought their personalities were well developed for critters that don't get a lot of screen time.
My only complaint is that there wasn't enough pony, it was mostly just dragon and animals.
It barely satisfied my poni addiction.
I just wish Spike was just a teensy bit more competent...
And actually got the lie at the end...

When you consider the amount of screentime the Ponies get, you kinda get fed up after a while. Diversity is needed. Like an episode devoted to the background characters. Like Derpy. Or Flitter.
Or Blinkie and Inkie Pie (Seriously, where did THEY go?)
So other than an episode with the Mane 6, i'm just asking for an episode with a Character who needs the screentime. Spike agrees.
The problem is bigger than this. It's simply that nobody appreciates the show for what they did originally. They expect way too much from a show that captured our attention just by being simple, funny, heartwarming, and goofy.
I for one don't dislike any episode. I love them all. mind you some preform better then most. Still the the thing with them is that I hate it when people just can not enjoy tthe show for what it is. Then there is also the fact it is a show for 8 year old girls and some peoople just read too much into thingsss for my tastes.
