A Few Questions for Readers of MLPL2 · 7:39pm Jan 16th, 2013
I've noticed that a common criticism of Lost Legacies is that the synopsis doesn't effectively communicate the interesting aspects of the story. I'm thinking about changing it to what's below. So, what does everypony think? Should I replace it, or is it fine as is? Also, if you think you can write up a better one, feel free to post that too.
One more question if you have the time: if Feather Quill were to have any other color scheme besides her current one (gray coat, black mane), what would it be and why? Anypony who can come up with a cool answer to this question or an awesome synopsis will be credited for it. Thanks for your continued interest and support!
New Synopsis?
As a filly, Derpy Hooves went to sleep one night and woke up with a Cutie Mark the next morning. Years later, she still has no idea what it means. That was just fine by her until a series of embarassing mistakes leaves her jobless and homeless. Now, given a second chance at life by the Elements of Harmony, Derpy confronts the mystery of her Mark and discovers a whole host of oddities in the process, not the least of which are her compulsory nighttime excursions into Equestria's fabled Lost History . . .
If you do change the synopsis to the suggested one, I'd say that saying Derpy's series of embarassing mistakes doesn't reflect the longevity of the problem she faces. But that's just me.
Other than that I don't have much to say except for Feather Quill's mane color would look interesting as white in my opinion.
I love that new synopsis. I say change it.
As for Feather Quill... I'm so enraptured by Silver Cross that I barely have time to imagine what she looks like. XD But I always sorta imagined her with a darker color scheme, like the one you described, so I think it's fine to keep her as is.

I'm not going to change Feather's basic color scheme—I just need an alternate color scheme for . . . something in the next chapter. You'll see. Cross's alt scheme has already been determined by the needs of the plot, but I thought it would be fun to see what you guys might come up with for Feather.

I actually prefer your old description. It was what drew me to your story in the first place.
I think it had the right amount of story, but at the same time it hinted at events that had the potential to unravel into larger plots as the story progressed, so you knew what you were getting into. This one does a better job of explaining the current situation, yeah, but it's also just really... blunt. The former was a lot more fluid, to me, and it gave you just enough information to entice you to read more. This one kind of ambles up to you, looks you in the eye, and then throws the plot right in your face before it makes a hasty getaway... I dunno, that's my opinion anyway.
As for the color scheme... Hmm, I'll say a dusty golden blond coat, brown/light brown main and tail, and green eyes. If not that, I also agree with Ponky's idea, too.
Oh! And if neither of those two, how about Blinkie Pie's color scheme? Feather Quill's current set up is pretty much an exact match to Inkie's, so coloring her like her sister seems logical, no?

Seriously though if you really feel you need to change her colors light brown coat black mane. or Red coat White mane.
