About "Farewell to the Moon" · 3:15am Jan 16th, 2013
Ok, I feel the need to discuss this before anything else happens. Farewell to the Moon isn't dead. Its just been a hectic couple of months and I want to put everything out in the open.
Farewell to the Moon is just an adaptation to a visual novel that my friend, Zien and myself are working on. I had an idea of pitching this as a pony story to see if the concept would be an intriguing enough one to actually do. It wasn't an easy thing to do, trying to adapt the whole situation to a pony world. The biggest problem we've run into is that the story takes 200 years after the Incident rather than a year. It was the first story I posted here and because it's an original concept, I completely understand the lack of interest in it for the most part. The whole premise was not portrayed well and looking back upon it, reading it now the whole story seems rushed. Crescent was a flat character and Verity had an unexplained past. The whole idea of the Incident was just... there. I feel terrible about the whole writing style of it and I feel it needs to change. So there will be a reboot and revised version coming within the next few weeks now that I have more confidence with my writing.
As for the whole reason behind the revisions of it, there was a falling out between the people with the story. A friend who was behind the character, Ophelia, ended up leaving the project for personal reasons and causing a massive rift between myself and Zien because of her constantly changing her character every time we began working on it. Essentially, there was massive drama between us and she ended up breaking away, taking her character with her and telling us not to use her. In that time, we've been ironing out the finer details of the project and are about eighty five percent happy with the general direction. We know how it begins, how it ends. All that remains is to write it.
I'll start revisions within the week. Sorry guys.
