Medical Update + Potential Prereader Recruitment · 8:15pm Jan 15th, 2013

Okay guys and gals. I’ve been to the docs and had to face my fear of needles (I admit it, I’m such a coward about them!) to get a blood test taken.

I wasn’t aware they were going to take all my blood! Four full vials from my arm, I couldn’t move it afterwards. She said it’s so they only have to do this once and they can test for a whole range of things, so that’s nice.

Even better, colonoscopy isn’t on the cards yet (Thank you Goddesses) and instead the much less intrusive ultrasound examination is being set up for me.

However, she says she doens’t believe the nubiles on my arm are related to this, but they’ve taken enough blood to check that too. Overall, it’s fairly good news helped by that the pain actually spread to my left hand side briefly. Sounds bad? Kinda, but it does also mean that it’s more likely to be a problem with my digestional tract and not a localised problem (which is the scarier one when you think about it).

I’ll keep you all updated. I actually feel a tad guilty getting all these messages wishing well on FimFic, tumblr and Devart, as though I’m making drama of it. But all the same, thank you all for taking the time.

Now, only the other piece of news.

My prereader team has taken a bit of a blow. Some fell behind due to life and couldn’t keep up with the chapters, some are entering college and losing time whereas others have work commitments. Furthermore, one has had their PC die on them for the long term. In general, it’s a more spasmodic response that I get per chapter now than I’d like.

I’m currently discussing the idea of looking into offering up a call for people who want to look at becoming a prereader with my editor. The primary issue being that it needs to be someone I can chat to fairly easily on skype, someone that has the time, someone that has the patience to sometimes re-read changed scenes and someone I know that is neither going to “Yes Man” me or “Find flaws for the sake of finding something.” Both are bad. In general, I like my prereaders to edge on the sceptic and forthright side of things. I don’t always agree with them, but that’s why being able to discuss and go back and forth is such an important thing. I wouldn’t be this far without them.

I’ll maybe post added details if we decide on things like how many.

I have the same issue with pre-readers. I really need them, and though I have a quite a few that are willing usually recently they've all fallen behind too.

I had to get blood like that taken out of my arm once. By my own father, and if your father is the one doing the injections it really freaks you out. I'm glad you got some good news though! I've seen video's on colonoscopy and it doesn't look fun in the slightest. I really hope things work out in the end, and good luck finding pre-readers! You have my best wishes!

Id love to be a prereader/proofreader should you need one, but i fear im poorly qualified to be one :twilightblush: Opinion and pointing out the obvious im good at as you may remember, ive got a lot of awesome time on my hands/hooves and use skype a lot. Throw me a message if you need me, it would be an honor and a pleasure^^

My English is not as bad as it looks i should add (im a lazy typer), but its not my first language so i do have some weaknesses :unsuresweetie:
Aside from that, it sounds like im the kind of person you want.

I could preread for you. I am very critical of many things, and I don't have much better to do. It would be an honour to partake in a story operation such as this. If I was capable of expressing pride for my English ability, I probably would. How unfortunate that I don't.

If you are unsuccessful in editor acquisition, then I hope you give me some consideration before finding someone else.

...This is why I don't have a job. I am awful at making myself sound good for something. I doubt I could ruin the task of editing too badly, lets put it that way.

I would enjoy to assist with this, I have a skype account and a microphone so that you could get into contact with me, (Although I don't really like talking to people I don't really know, I can easily type) Almost ALWAYS have plenty of time, aside from school, which isn't going to hinder me that much, I've done ALOT of reading and fancy myself good at it, I'd be able to get through the story and give my opinions and point things out quickly (It took me school days to finish this story from the beginning to where it is now.)

my friends say I have a reading problem.... I've litterally always either got my nose in my Nook or am playing some game on my computer...

Message me on here if you want to ask me anymore questions, It's a much more reliable way of getting to me then either my email or anything else, (And I'd prefer to not post my skype name where everyone in the entire world could see it, Hyperbole time is best time)
