Act 1: The Premonition is Complete · 10:21pm Jan 9th, 2013

I must say, it feels strange finally typing that out. While it is planned to be the shortest act, The Premonition has been in the backlog for so long that I once doubted it would ever see the light of day again.

Granted, I wouldn't call The Premonition a finished product. There is bound to be a typo or two I missed, and perhaps at some undetermined point in the future I will do additional mechanical editing if I ever find Act 1's current state unsatisfactory. Of course, nothing I may change will require the reader to re-read anything.

With Act 1 finished and uploaded within the span of five days, some of you may be wondering what will happen with Act 2. And I regret to inform you that, sadly, there is going to be a bit of a break.

The situation is this: After I had Act 1 reviewed in July of last year, I put aside editing in favor of hammering out Act 2 as part of a writing agreement before my time was consumed by academics. From what I had envisioned, I wrote half of Act 2 within two weeks. My writing style was different back then, meaning that if I am to use what I have now, I will have to spend extra time editing. Still, looking back on it, I do not like the current sequence of events. So, what I have of Act 2 might as well be discarded, except for some scenes.

Firstly, Act 2 is going back into the planning stage. This by itself should take a few days. It depends on how well I can focus and devise a good sequence of events.

Secondly, Act 2 will be (re)written. Coupling with this stage is my impending return to academia, which will likely reduce my free time. Still, I believe I can make the time to write while also focusing on my classes. If it turns out I cannot do both, I will make another blog post in the future.

Lastly, Act 2 will require editing, both on my part and someone else's. Currently, I have one person who is willing to help, but it would be nice to have at least one more. So, if anyone is interested in being an editor for this story, either leave a comment here or send me a private message. While it isn't a requirement, I would prefer that you are knowledgeable on the original Foundation.

I will not start updating this story again until I am halfway through Act 2. And even then, I will probably choose a longer update schedule, like a chapter every other day or every three days so the story isn't too quickly saturated.

That is how I perceive the situation with Act 2. Something is bound to change in my plans, but I will cross that bridge when I come to it. For now, Act 1 is finished, and the journey into the equine galaxy has only begun.

Until next time,
