That feel when you only just realise that the idea you had for a fic ages ago and only just got around to finishing the first chapter of is pretty much the same plotline for the very latest episode.
I mean, it's not Spike and Applejack (actually it's about as much of a crack pairing as my soon to be released Nurse Redheart/Photo Finish fic) but the premise is pretty much exactly the same. Therizzen can back me up on this one, he's already seen it. I am actually thinking about just releasing the first chapter now to gauge people's reactions to it. So if you like the idea of a fic that involves one pony saving the life of another and the latter pledging themselves to the former, then I might just do it now (or whenever it would get past moderation at a sensible time for the various American Timezones aka, the best time to have a fic released to get views)

Or that feel you get when you write a story with a ship you believe to be unique that's then hinted at in a new episode and then have multiple people attempt to write the ship themselves (f***ing "Wonderbolt Academy").
I honestly don't have a clue. This has happened to me, and my story isn't doing so well as of now. If you really want to write it, then I say go for it, but I, personally, would probably not read it.
Then again, I'm a bit of a curmudgeon. It's probably best to ignore me.

Rarity/Thunderlane, I take it (because I clicked on your profile page =P) it reminds me of this comic. I imagine part of it might be the fact that it's Straight shipping. A lot of people in this fandom just don't like it. It's kinda like female/female shipping in most other fandoms (as I have found out) they just tend to get shunted to the side.

Anywho, I've not made mention of this, but Photo Finish and Nurse Redheart are two of my favorite characters, and I look forward to your ship on them, however far off that is.
Yeah, I know dat feel. I have a fic about Flitter and Cloudchaser that I've been working on since season two. By basing it off of their one appearance on the show, I figured that Cloudchaser would be the smart one, so I made a an aspiring meteorologist. Then Wonderbolt Academy happens and suddenly she's an aspiring Wonderbolt. Though I think I can work around it.
Redheart x Photo Finish? That'll be interesting, I like Redheart, but I don't know about Photo. As for the episode related fic, why not post it? If people don't want to read it for that reason, they can choose not to, you know? Not to mention, if more people are like me it will probably end up on the read later pile and I woildn't see it again until long after the episode airs.
