I don't know about you guys, but I'm kind of burnt out on stories about Noteworthy and the spa ponies · 11:51pm Dec 27th, 2012
Sure, we all love Noteworthy, Aloe, and Lotus – they're some of the most popular characters with the fanbase. But still, can't we write about somepony else for a change? There are so many great characters on this show, but lately, it seems like all that ever gets submitted are stories about those three.

At least there's a tag for Raindrops now. I suppose that's some progress in the right direction.
Yeah... I am beginning to think I missed the latest episode or something... (I thought the last aired episode was the Top Gun episode with RD as Tom Cruise, LD as Val Kilmer and Spitfire as Tom Skerritt... the only thing missing was Dash doin a Sonic Rainboom fly-by)
I've never read a fic about any of these three ponies... am I missing something?
I did not notice many fics about these ponies. To be true I did not read any with them as main character (although spa sisters are very frequently present as background characters, yes).
Also I'm sorry for bringing out offtopic, but is there any chance to see 'To Make Old Friends' update anytime soon?

654936 655164 Yeah, that's basically what the joke was – that it was so strange that these characters got chosen for their own tags when I can't imagine that anyone was really asking for them at all. Especially not Blues/Noteworthy. The spa ponies at least show up in a fair number of stories, even if it isn't as the major characters the tags are for, but I can think of more stories I've read that feature Surprise of all ponies as a major character (three) than contain Blues as a character at all (one, and he didn't seem all that important in it).
I bet that there are a lot of stories where Sparkler is a major character ever since general fan consensus became that she's Derpy's daughter, but I couldn't say how many because Sparkler doesn't have a character tag. Blues does, though. And so does Rumble. And so does Rose. It's not that it's arbitrary – it inevitably would be – it's that some of the choices appear to meet needs that don't actually exist and probably never will.
Chapter 8 of To Make Old Friends is coming along, although with all the holiday stuff, the past week hasn't been as productive as I would have hoped. My current goal on that is to have is ready for pre-reading the first week of January.
655341I know, right? Especially since her and Raindrops have pretty much the same justification for getting one. Raindrops is essentially a Lunaverse tag right now (7 of the 9 stories currently bearing the tag are from that shared universe.)
