My opinion on Shipfics · 6:43am Nov 3rd, 2011
I see a few comments on people talking about the homosexuality used in a lot of shipfics, especially about Rainbow Dash. In my own opinion, I think it's a great flexibility for writers. Personally I don't like to go with the stereotype that Rainbow is a lesbian strictly for the fact that she's a rainbow maned tomboy. If anything I see that any of the ponies can be interpreted as homo/bi/heterosexual however the writer sees fit. I've always been very big into romance, falling in and out of love very often and very deeply until I finally found my current lover and couldn't be happier. I see it that any sexuality can feel the same way that I've felt and I'll portray those feelings in the romance.
Moving on to a more general term, I'd like to thank the fans of A League of Their Own. You've made this project very much worth it for me. Something I was just doing for fun has become a lot more fun than I could've imagined it being. I decided to make this one my first because I love Dashfire shipping, I adore it. Spitfire and Rainbow Dash are my two favorite ponies in the show and I think they fit so well together if done right, and it upset me there were so little shipfics about the two. Surprised me even, so I decided I'd give my own take on it and see where it goes. Sure enough, I'm glad to see a growing fanbase.
Another thing I'd like to address is my fellow brony Samsara. He's a friend of mine and I'd really like you guys to go check out his stuff, especially if you enjoy dark twisted psycho fics. He's really good at writing stuff like that and he enjoys it. He also writes a good romance if you're looking for more of a situational thing instead of a true love thing.
Shameless plugging and gushing aside, thank you guys! Really, it makes me happy to see someone enjoying my stories. I hope you'll keep tuned to the end and hopefully through my other stories as well.
Yours truly,
Sparx
