part 3 of another my thoughts post

since we've entered june i had thought of doing another follow up post. this one is once again on nick's animated shows (since i've seen everyone seemed to like the two i did at the start of the year i've been thinking hard of doing a third one). this is going to include only three shows. (two not talked about in the first post and a slight review of one show that's recently).

today is a real special day. today is when the norfolk & western would roll out a new steam engine on may 29th 1950 that would become an icon for steam. the n&w employees of roanoke out shopped n&w class j 4-8-4 no. 611 from the n&w roanoke virginia shops. thus began a the career of one of the most highly advanced steam locomotives ever built. for 9 years the 611 and her 13 class j sisters

a bit of worlds are about to collide · 10:27pm May 20th

now there has been some big news that i wanted to share. for the first time hasbro and mattel are coming together. they are making a hot wheels toy of optimus prime from transformers g1! here's what the description is:

two of the biggest fandoms have come together for the first time with the hot wheels transformers optimus prime. modeled after his first appearance in generation 1 this die cast version of the autobot leader can convert from a heavy-duty truck cab into a towering robot ready to battle the decepticons. we even designed the packaging so you could display it in either vehicle or robot mode.

here's the fourm where i learned this (https://news.tfw2005.com/2024/05/14/mattel-creations-hot-wheels-transformers-optimus-prime-official-reveal-511358#images).

now this is a major highlight with hasbro and mattel coming together to combind two of the compaines icon toy brands hot wheels and transformers!

i never thought i'd see the two biggest toy companies come together to create a somthing like this. (of course i remember in 2017 they both talked about merging but that never went through).

they're also doing optimus prime in a non transforming die cast vehicle (this will be part of the hot wheels truck fleet this will include the trailer). and they're also doing bumblebee in his volkswagen bug look like he was in g1 (i may pick them up if i come across them). here's a link to show what they'll look like (https://news.tfw2005.com/2024/05/16/hot-wheels-x-transformers-optimus-prime-bumblebee-vehicles-official-stock-images-511647).

so this is just really exciting that they're doing this.

it is part for g1's 40th anniversary and i can tell everyone is going all out for this special occasion.

i just thought i'd share this exciting look that i never would expect to see. thanks for checking it out.
