Looking for Feedback (G5 Fanfics) · 6:50am May 19th
I've been mulling over this for a while, ever since the ending of Make Your Mark. I want to make G5 fanfics that have only the movie and MYM as canon, not TYT. As I refuse to watch TYT on principle of it being too low-effort to be a main series, this is how my new G5 fics would be going forward.
The ultimate question is, do movie/MYM G5 fanfics that are sequels erasing TYT events as canon interest any of you? Are there other people that would prefer to read more developed stories of what our G5 cast could be up to? Or even fanfic remakes of G5? I would absolutely love to hear feedback on what you guys think, as I've been contemplating this for a while.

I think there's so much room to tell stories in G5 post mym. The show writers basically had to cannibalize their run time in order to tell Misty's story properly (which I'm grateful for because I love her so much) but that left pretty much every other character with minimal room for their own character arcs.
Sunny not being the main character means her ascension into an alicorn was never really explored or what she would even do after she achieved her dream. Zipp still has her own wants and dreams that completely clash with her royal obligations. Pipp, I feel, still feels snubbed by her sister. Izzy probably has a lot of emotional baggage after all the loneliness she went through that hasn't been addressed. What does Misty do after finally escaping her emotionally abusive relationship? (TYT actually has her studying magic, which is so cool, but what does she want to do with that?). Hitch has a kid and all the wild drama it takes in raising one.
(Also, I'm still mad that "Secrets of Starlight" made a big deal of introducing a new character who wanted to join the mane cast and see the world only for him to completely disappear in TYT. I miss Comet so much.)
I'm really glad there's another person who has noticed this exact problem, and that was one of the series ideas I was considering exploring: Make Your Mark stories to address the rest of the Mane 6 and tie loose ends in the way I would have wanted.
Also Comet is a cutie, I intended on writing a Izzy X Comet adult romance at some point.

G5 stuffs are always good for me, I personally think there are a lot of good in TYT especially with a few great writers in the team like Ryan Denham
If you're interested, there is a 22 minutes TYT episode called The Blockywocky which deals with Izzy's creative block

Am fine with that, especially cuz some of the episodes in TYT are retelling of MYM stuffs so you haven't been missing much
