Spike And The Son Of Hades, First look!

Hey guys hope your having a good day! I had just finished up a first chapter for a future story I'm going to post sometime soon, while I'm busy with a few other stories right now, when I'm done with one or two of them I'll post this one! This story sees Spike teaming up with Zagreus from the game Hades, a hack and slash rouge-like game with an epic and unique story that could only be made by amazing talented developers at Supergiant games! It's one of my top 10 favorite games ever, and I've poured hundreds of hours into it, I know that there are a lot of people who love this game, and it's now released sequel, Hades 2, they both have so much to offer and it is a huge W for any indie developer to be able to make something so amazing, I love this game and I wanted to make a story that has Spike go through it, and maybe Hades 2 as well if I can properly have Spike in it.

The story is that Spike awakens in the House of Hades after not remembering how he exactly got there, he has no memories of what happened right before he ended up here, he doesn't know if he's dead or not, but since he's in the Underworld, he has to find a way to escape, but his arrival does catch the attention of the residents and even Hades himself, since Spike's arrival and reason for being here isn't known to them, so Spike is allowed to stay there till they find out why, but Spike doesn't wanna sit around in the house forever, he soon meets Hades's son Zagreus, who's growing tired of how he's been treated here, and seeing that they both share the same goal, Spike and Zagreus agree to team up and train to become skilled warriors so they can fight they're way through hell, not only so Zagreus can find his mother, but also so Spike can understand why he came to the Underworld.

I have interesting ideas on what will be explored, Spike will have spent 2 years in the House of Hades by the time the game starts, so he'll be around 14 to 15 years old, he'll have some new experience as a fighter and will have his own weapons to use, like double bladed swords and axes, and a scythe followed by many other weapons. While I won't be able to include every interaction in the game since it would take WAY to long to do so, I think I got a proper way to have the story flow, the first chapter will have Spike and Zagreus's first attempt and seeing them fail, and we'll see how Spike's handling with being in the underworld when they're in the House of Hades, and the next chapter will show how Spike ended up here, so we can all be caught up on what's happening.

The chapters will all be split into 1 or 2 depending on how long Spike and Zagreus's runs go, and when they die and end up at the House of Hades, I'll have them interact with the character's like in the game, giving them Nectar and helping form a relationship with them, I think Spike could be like a son to Cerberus, he could become a little brother to Zagreus and Thanatos, and even Hades will grow more fond of him overtime, it's to help show Spike's growing more and more each time they die, and the next chapter will start with they're next run.

Although I do wish to hear your feedback on this, I'd like to hear your ideas on how Spike's relationships can be with the other character's, what weapons he should use, giving me extra descriptions on the gods and characters if you want. if Celestia and Luna can give him boons of their own to help once they've reached the game, and overall just what you would like to see in this story, I know this game has a ton of amazing fans and I wish to hear they're ideas, please let me know what you think of this first look and I'll post it when I finish a couple more of my stories, thanks for reading this and hope you like what this has to offer!

We open to a small narration of an ancient place deep within the Underworld of Tartarus, blood rivers flow through the many rivers of the underworld, Shades silently make they're way to a very large house within the underworld, and we see two figures burst they're way out of a window and they begin to make they're way downwards.

"Few Tales are told of Hades, who's very name strikes fear and penitence, reminding us of the inevitable fate we all share. I however mean to tell you such a tale, listen closely.." A voice narrates as the two figures land on the ground in front of the main entrance of the house. One of the figures is a tall man with a large red blade and fancy clothing, and besides him is a tall green and purple dragon with a scythe and has a scar in one of his eyes.

They both have a serious look and begin making they're escape through the underworld.
"Goodbye father, you ready to put your skills to the test Spike?" The man asked the Dragon who ran at fast speeds.
"Let's see if all that training I went through will help us escape this place Zagreus." Spike said as they were coming upon the first door which had a large yellow symbol on it.
"Good, to hell with this place then, let's go." Zagreus said as they opened the door and began making they're way through it.

Spike and Zagreus entered the next chamber which was one of many in this maze like place, it was part of this worlds tough security to make sure no one can escape this place, no one except for these two.
"We're leaving, go ahead and try and stop us monsters." Zagreus said with rage while he and Spike drew they're weapons, they came upon some large muscular monsters who roared at them and moved through the ground while having spiked hands.
"Your not stopping us monsters." Spike said while he slashed his scythe at one of the demons to knock it back, Zagreus jumped in the air and delivered a strong slice to the monster which split it in half which killed it, but more summoning circles appeared around the two at once and at least 3 more appeared next to them.
"Watch your right Zagreus!" Spike shouted while he ducked under one of they're swings and sliced off the monster's arm, Spike then put the tip on the ground and jumped in the air and twirled his weapon around to take down two of those things at once, Zagreus took on the last one down with a powerful slice and they both had defeated the enemy group for this chamber.

"Good work so far Spike, but be careful, we're only in the first chamber of this place, there's many more to come, and each one will have it's own reward for us, if we die trying to escape here we'll just have what we got to make ourselves stronger." Zagreus advised while Spike put his weapon away.
"Hey, I'm just doing what I was taught thanks to you, I'm glad we're leaving this place, I can see why you hate it." Spike replied while the two took in this moment.
"Believe me you've only seen the beginning." Zagreus said while looking a bit upset looking around the place. But a large bright light appeared before them suddenly, and they saw it was the symbol of a certain god.
"Is this one of these.. gods I was told about?" Spike asked in awe while they went up to it.
"It is, I think I know this one is, hold on.. In the name of Hades! Olympus we accept this message!" Zagreus announced holding his hand to the symbol which made it glowed brightly, and they could see a large figure appear within it, and it was a goddess that is known throughout the underworld, as Athena, the goddess of Wisdom..

"Hail noble cousin, and for you who is aiding the prince, all of us on Olympus shall play are part to making sure you escape that miserable place. Count on it." Athena said before they felt a power from her come into them, Spike felt a shield form around him which he could use to deflect enemy attacks when he dashes, and Zagreus got an ability to deflect enemy attacks with his sword.
"Feelings these boons flow into me feels so weird.. then again it is my first time receiving one.." Spike said while he did a few dashes himself to test out his power.
"Something tells me we'll be seeing more of this soon, let's be thankful Athena and the Olympians are willing to help, hopefully we can find out why you ended up here when we meet them in person." Zagreus said hopefully while they made they're way to the next chamber.
"Let's hope they do." Spike prayed while they went into the next chamber which had a Darkness symbol on it, which would give them some more power in the future.

Spike and Zagreus emerged in the next room and saw more enemy's that they had to defeat, some were enemy's with arrows that shot out dark waves of energy, while some were the larger demons from before.
"Go for the archers Spike, I got the large ones!" Zagreus declared before he drew his sword and went to fight the large demons.
"Let's try this out." Spike said as he charged at the demons quickly, they shot multiple dark waves at him but Spike used his new power to deflect their attacks back at them, Spike knew this power would only last for this run if he and Zagreus both die here, but they'll just have to make with what they got right now. Spike drew his weapon again and sliced directly through one of the monsters and sliced it in half, Spike then flipped over a shot from behind and took the next one down, but he suddenly got shot in the arm and saw that there was another within the corner which got him irritated.
"I wish there was healing ability's here.." Spike said with anger before he deflected more shots and took the last one down while Zagreus smashed the last one into some spiked traps that could help them with they're battles.

Spike and Zagreus saw a small chunk of darkness appear before them and they went to take it.
"I took a few hits during that fight, what about you Spike? Can you still go?" Zagreus asked while he had some visible scars on him.
"It's nothing to bad.. let's just hope we don't go through something to big in the next." Spike prayed while they absorbed the darkness into them for later.
"And let's put this darkness to good use when we can, let's go." Zagreus said again before he and Spike went into the next chamber which had a coin symbol on it.

Spike and Zagreus came into another small room which had more traps around the place, but they saw some large fat demons within the area too and there were also some floating skulls who noticed the two as well, there was a bit more of them then before, and they both got on guard.
"Louts! Watch out they hit hard! And don't let those skulls overcrowd you!" Zagreus shouted while they moved out of one of the skulls attacks, Zagreus sliced the skull apart while Spike was trying to hold back the Louts strong attacks.
"These things are strong!" Spike shouted before another one came besides them both and the Lout charged directly into them which did some heavy damage.
"Damn it! We're only in the 3rd chamber! We can't lose to these numbskulls!" Zagreus said irritated while they tried fighting off the enemy's together, but they were being outnumbered two to over a dozen, and they saw two more Louts preparing another charge attack on them both and they both saw there was no way out for this one.
"Well at least we'll be welcomed back at the house at least.." Spike said annoyed before the Lout charged directly at him and Spike felt his breath leave him and his body fell into a pool of blood which Zagreus was upset with seeing.
"See you back at the house.." Zagreus said as well before he got smashed down by one of the Louts too and the damage was too much, they're bodies both sank into the pool of blood and they're bodies started floating down back to the house.

There is no escape...

Spike and Zagreus groan as they finally emerge from a pool of blood within the House of Hades.
"Ugh.. we need to be more on guard the next time this happens Spike.." Zagreus said annoyed while Spike shook the blood off of him.
"Ugh, now I know what Death feels like.." Spike said with a shiver as they finally were back at their home.. well.. Zagreus's home, the House of Hades. It was an ancient place where those who've died come to pay for they're sins, and the God of the Dead himself, Hades, was in charge of all that happens here, and they couldn't escape his intense glare as he saw the two come in. But just as they were about to face him and his three headed hound Cerberus, they heard a familiar voice come from their sides.
"Welcome to the House of Hades you two!.. oh wait, I know you two! If your here then I guess that means you two died out there huh? Well don't be sad guys, pretty much everyone dies sometime!" Hypnos greeted which made them scoff seeing him.
"We aint gonna give up after just one attempt Hypnos, there's far more we have to go through in order to escape this place." Zagreus said while moving past him.
"Nice to see you again though, try not to fall asleep on the job again." Spike joked while they left him alone to do his job.

But they then came upon a large desk with mountains worth of paperwork, a huge 3 headed red dog sits besides it and looks at the two of them, Spike and Zagreus wave at it before they turn to the large figure at the center of it, and they both knew who this was.. Hades.
"Back already you two?" Hades asked while he looked uninterested but upset at they're escape attempt.
" We would've been gone longer if we didn't get out numbered, but why would you care father? We'll just be on our way." Zagreus said while they tried to go away from him.
"Stupid boy, no one gets out of here, either alive or dead. And your just bringing your new friend down to your level, he'd best take my advice and stop this nonsense before it goes to far." Hades said looking at Spike who rolled his eyes.
"Well unless I have a way to contact my friends and let them know where I am, I won't stop, sorry lord Hades, but I'll keep going the hard way, even if I don't like it." Spike said while the two went about they're business in the house while he scoffed hearing that.
"Blood and darkness, your already looking like him." Hades said with a disgusted look while looking at Zagreus again before he went back to work.

Spike looked around the place and sighed at the sight of it, this was the place he's been at for like 2 years at this point, it's hard to tell for sure since Time doesn't work the same as it did back in Equestria, he emerged within that pool without knowing how it happened, and the only goal he has with his friend is to escape this place and find out why.
"At least this place gives us some relief whenever we die out there, still gonna have to get used to this no matter how many times we try." Spike said while he shook the pain of Death he still felt off him.
"Hey, you did a good job on your first attempt Spike, it was your first real fight, you should be glad you even slayed a few demons, I'm sure none of the Shades here could've done that." Zagreus said while patting his back, Spike smiled a bit and was glad Zagreus was the only person who was there for him right now.
"Thanks, I wish Twilight and the others could find a way to get me out of here, I'm sure they'd welcome you back in Equestria nicely." Spike replied which made him chuckle a bit.
"That sounds a lot nicer then what this place is like.." Zagreus said shaking his head while they passed by a familiar person who helped them both gain the fighting experience they had.

"Your both back." The man greeted which got they're attention, they turned around and smiled at the sight of him, he was one of the few kind people there were here, and they went up to greet him to see if he's alright.
"How you doing Achilles, is everything going alright for you here?" Spike greeted while he and Zagreus were in a nearby hall that was on the opposite side of the Lounge which looked closed off for now.
"I'm doing alright my friend, It's good to see you too, despite the circumstances. Just the remember the training we all did together, and remember, the pain of Death is another obstacle." Achilles advised which they smiled at, he was a wise mentor and teacher to them who taught them everything they knew about fighting, and were always glad to see him.
"And fear is for the weak, take care Achilles." Zagreus said respectfully while the two went to Zagreus's chambers to try again, it was the only way out of the place and they didn't have much to do right now.

But before they went back into the chambers, they noticed a familiar figure with dark clothing and had a dark aura around here, this was Nyx, Night Incarnate.
"You both have come home." Nyx greeted while the two went up to her.
"Do not despair you two, such setbacks are inevitable. But you will overcome them with time, you made contact with the Goddess Athena. She shall be true to her word with helping you both escape this place." Nyx said calmly while the two gave they're utmost respect to her.
"Thank you Nyx, I'm grateful you were able to put is into contact with them, what about the people Spike's family with? Have you found a way to contact them yet?" Zagreus asked hoping they had something by now.
"Unfortunately my power isn't strong enough to reach them, where Spike is from is not recorded within our history archives, at least not to what we know right now. But I will let you know if I find a way to contact them, but for the meantime, you two must keep going." Nyx advised which they understood respectfully.
"Thank you Nyx, even though I'm not family here, I'm grateful you're all trying to help me." Spike said gratefully while the two of them started to leave again.
"We all will child, now go." Nyx advised while the two of them went into the chambers.

Spike and Zagreus went into the room and sighed with relief as this place was a safe haven to them both.
"Hey room, we're back." Zagreus greeted to no one in particular which made Spike chuckle a bit.
"Hard to believe we're basically roommates at this point huh? I don't have a proper room like you do, and it's way nicer then most of what the house has right now." Spike said while looking around the place, there was one large mirror with a dark aura coming from it, it was something Nyx gave them so they could get stronger from with the more darkness they collect, and they saw fancy decorations and a large bed in the right side of the place, and a couch was on the left side for Spike to sleep on.
"Hey at least we can take a breather here, even though I have no need for sleep right now, I'm sure it must be lovely for you to be able to sleep every day." Zagreus said as they began heading to the exit just across the room, they didn't really need to rest right now, and were still ready to keep going for another attempt.
"It was, but now I barely feel the need to sleep since I came here, and all that training I went through certainly played a part in it that's for sure." Spike said while he looked on the battle scars he had on his arms that were from the training.

"Hey, it's to keep your stamina up, we're gonna have to fight through all of hell to escape this damned place, we'd best be at the top of our game." Zagreus said while they went into the weapons chamber Zagreus had.
"I hear that, what weapon should we choose this time?" Spike asked while he put his Scythe away and looked at the different options he currently had, he can either choose between a Scythe, a double bladed axe, or a double bladed sword for right now.
"I think I'll go with this new bow, the Coronacht. The Heart seeker." Zagreus said while he took a powerful looking bow that could fire multiple shots at once and could deal small but multiple attacks, Spike looked at his weapon choices and decided on the double bladed sword for this one.
"And I'll go for the Swords of Misery. Twice the pain, twice the progress hopefully." Spike said taking them as they could split apart and Spike could duel wield them for bonus attacks.

But before they could leave to start another attempt, a summoning circle appeared in the center and they saw a strange walking skeleton appear in the room.
"What's up guys?" The skeleton greeted which confused them a bit.
"Who are you?" Spike asked while they kept they're guards up.
"Nice place you got here boyos! Name's Skelly! How's it going? But enough talk, I'm here to to a job, so let me have it, give me everything you two got!" Skelly introduced which confused them a bit.
"Wait, you want us to.. beat you up?" Spike asked confused with this a bit.
"Yeah! Give it your all!" Skelly declared while keeping himself open, Spike and Zagreus looked at eachother and shrugged before they both drew they're weapons and they both started beating him up.

Spike twirled arounds his swords and delivered multiple slashes to Skelly while Zagreus shot dozens of bows directly at Skelly's head, but he seemed to enjoy the pain.
"That's it keep em coming!" Skelly encouraged which made them beat him up even harder, Spike made a battle cry and delivered a strong move with his blades and slashed through his body completely while Zagreus delivered the finishing blow.
"No.. nooo!!" Skelly screamed dramatically while his body faded into dust.
"Oops, we may have gone to far on that one." Zagreus said a bit regretful for them.. killing him.
"Well.. he was asking for it.." Spike said shrugging his shoulders not knowing what to say, but the summoning circle appeared below them again and they saw Skelly somehow reappeared after fading away.
"And I'm back! Really got ya there didn't I?" Skelly asked while laughing a bit.

"I guess so, so your job is to just be a punching bag for us?" Spike asked confused on what this means.
"That's right, whenever ya need to let off some steam, just punch me as much as you'd like!" Skelly encouraged while Zagreus chuckled a bit.
"We'll keep that in mind, but we have to go now, let's go Spike." Zagreus said while they headed towards the window that led out of the place again.
"Second times a charm then right?" Spike asked while they both looked out of the view of Tartarus and knew they had to fight through the place multiple times to escape, no matter how many times they die in it.
"Let's do it again, ready?" Zagreus asked while they got ready to jump.
"Let's go." Spike said confidently before they jumped out of the window to begin again, Spike took in this moment to take in what's going on, he's teaming up with the prince of the underworld to escape it so he can find his real mother, and so Spike can find out how he ended up here in the first place, and with this in mind, he took a moment to reflect back on how he ended up in this situation to begin with..

I really love the fact that somebody finally had the idea to actually make a story like this, take your time with your other stories and then work on this one, I have a feeling that's Spike may or may not get dusa's attention after some times ( even tho zag and dusa can't be together in the game I should know I played it I think It would be fair for spike to be with her) as for the interactions with the gods hooooooooo boy I have a feeling that Aphrodite is going to gush over how cute spike, ares would probably say he'd be surprised to see a mighty dragon helping their nephew get out of the underworld Artemis would be interested in spike ( take it what ever way you want it, in Greek times (plz correct if wrong) any one could have more then one lover) mainly cuz of his good looks or because of the fact that he's a dragon a dragon that's helping zag( ect ect). As for weapons maybe base some on the og dragon's in Greek mythology.
