    80 years ago today

Today is the 80th anniversary of d-day. the day when soliders would make the sacrifice when trying to stop the invasion of normandy. all these men made the sacrifice of serving for everyone's freedom. and 80 years later they're still remembered as the ultimate heros 80 years later. thank you to all that served that day and the ones still alive who remember you're the heros forver.

    Some unfortunate things to share

today I wanted to take a moment as today is the 20th anniversary of the passing of ronald reagan the 40th president of the united states. I wanted to go big for this day to honor the 40th president but there's so many videos to pick. everyone already knows he's my favorite president. he was unlike any of the other presidents. first a hollywood actor serving in the military governor of california

csx's heritage fleet has grown more now

well today csx unvalved the 15th heritage unit. the 1875 for the pittsburgh & lake erie. it's another great job they did I don't know much about this road name but here's some of the information that was said about it. it was mostly a coal hauler. headquarter in pittsburgh it carried coal over a small area serving the steel mills in pennsylvania over to ohio. so it is a nice looking unit.

part 3 of another my thoughts post

since we've entered june i had thought of doing another follow up post. this one is once again on nick's animated shows (since i've seen everyone seemed to like the two i did at the start of the year i've been thinking hard of doing a third one). this is going to include only three shows. (two not talked about in the first post and a slight review of one show that's recently).

2024

so there's been some announcments that i've gotten · 4:00am May 5th

this was another one posts where i forgot to write.

now on friday i got an email from mth trains saying that they announced a custom run from one of their dealers (the dealer is e-z catch model trains fishing & crabbing supplies).

they announced that they're doing a custom run of the csx conrail heritage unit no. 1976 (and that was a nice surprise announcement). now of course the conrail heritage unit was my second favorite when csx was starting to do the heritage units.

(until the rest came out if i had to make a new list of which is my top 4 favorites from the earliest ones to the recent ones they would be the chessie system the acl the monon and the conrail).

i like the conrail heritage unit (i actually recently thought of buying it with the chessie system unit from lionel if i had to pick another one). in fact it was featured at csx's family days event last year in the summer in ohio (don't know what part of the state this was in but it was where conrail once ran). so i am thinking of buy the conrail heritage unit.

but the mth won't be release until janurary of 2025 so i think i may think about it. but the lionel one maybe a possibility of buying with the chessie system unit i'll see.

(and specking of the csx heritage units i also learned that some people vandalized the c&o heritage unit when it was a dpu on cpkc while in ontario they sprayed painted the nose of the locomotive with black paint). it just pisses me of someone would do that (i mean the employess at the waycross shop spent a lot of time doing work on these units). i hope they can undo the vandalism and that the c&o unit will look just as sharp looking like it did when it rolled out of the waycross shop.

and for a new announcement i just learned that berwyn's toys & trains is doing another custom run with the cn heritage units. (first they did the ej&e unit than the wc unit and for this year they're going to do the grand trunk heritage unit).

i founded this out on their website i've not gotten an email i don't think. (i was checking to see if the ej&e unit was still available as i still would like to buy it and compare it to the lionel one).

only issue is that for the gt unit they showed the drawing that the nose mounted headlight is on top instead of the nose where it's suppose to go. (this is a concept drawing that it may not look like that when it comes out). the gt unit is expected for a release by the fourth quarter of this year.

however i'm still wating to see if lionel will finally offer the gt unit when the vol 2 catalog for this year is released. as i've been really waiting and hoping if they'll do it since they did the 4 gevo heritage units and the two gevo veteran units 2 years ago (and as i said i've been wondering if they'll do them again since they've now got the tooling for the tier 4 gevo so i just feel like they might i'll just need to wait and see).

i just thought i'd share that there's been some exciting announcements of custom models comming form mth (still may think about these it's just nice to see mth do more of the recent heritage units with their tooling they still got).

so until the next post thanks for reading.
