Monthly Update: May 2024

Hey all!

Progress on everything slowed last month due to unforeseen circumstances. Digging, pipe replacing, book-report drafting, all on top of the regular day stuff. I’m very sorry I’ve not given anything in a while, although something will be advanced soon. At the end of every day, I’ve just not been feeling like writing dialogue, which unfortunately is like 70% of my stories.

Progress on Phalanta Falling (my older story which is getting reworked) has actually stopped progressing. This is because it turns out I need a solid base to build stories on, and EaW changeling lore is about as solid as a pool of quicksand (sturdy at first, but begins sinking immediately as soon as you step on it). Initially, I just wanted a quick history to pull from, but it very quickly spiralled into something much bigger. I’m working with another person who feels my sentiment to create an entirely new fan-lore that is both consistent and thematic. It has taken up a decent bit of time, but it is really starting to take shape. When I next update, the third chapter should have been finished if anyone is interested.

With nothing else to add, this month’s Music of the Month is split between two tracks from the same OST.

I’ve recently rediscovered a childhood gem of mine, the WWII in Colour documentary (I know, a pretty weird thing to get nostalgic about). While doing so, I also rediscovered the soundtrack, and I’ve not been able to pry myself from its grasp. The documentary was actually how I got into history, which is how I got into HoI4, which is how I got into EaW, and therefore I guess you can say it is actually the reason I’m here in the first place! This track holds so many memories for me.
