Alright there is a lot to talk about this one.
But before we start off... How is Applejack's body holding up her head?
Alright let's begin.
So most likely this episode is what would have happened if the apple family reunion was not ruined in the first & second episode of season 1 by Nightmare Moon. Until you think about the fact that Babs is in it. She was only introduced in season 3. So that throws that idea out the window. (No surprise since this show has almost no continuity). I really enjoyed seeing another episode with the main focus on Applejack. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think the last episode that focused on Applejack was Episode 4 of Season 1 (Applebucking Season). I found that Apple Bloom was really cute in this episode. 
I also really enjoyed seeing characters from previous episodes appear in this one that were associated with the Apple family. The Apple Bloom and Babs moments were great! It was nice to see Babs as a normal pony and not a bully. I would like to see more of this character in the future.
Alright now for the negatives.
I found this episode went by wayyyyyyyy too fast. Don't get me wrong, it was a great episode, but they could have evened it out better. I didn't like the song at the end. It was unnecessary. As was the letter to Princess Celestia at the end. Okay, so she's saying that she learned that spending time with her family and doing activities SHE KNOWS THEY LIKE, will make the reunion better 
. Anyone could have told her that! No before I end this, I know most episodes the letter to Princess Celestia is pointless, but for some reason I found this one to be useless.
Alright, so in the end I give this episode a 9/10. It was a really great episode. It kept my attention from the beginning to the end. I enjoyed the Apple Bloom and Babs moments. Apple Bloom was really cute in this episode. The only problems were: it went by too fast, the song wasn't good and the letter to the princess was not necessary. (BTW I know that is how they usually end it off, but some episodes did not end it off with that.)

Jeez how many times has the barn been destroyed now? That barn just wasn't made to last.

HAHAHAHA!! I've read dozens of reviews for today's (or yesterday's?) so many times at least you didn't try to look too deep into the twin shooting stars and interpreting it as Applejacks parents. Also yeah what's up with barn? It gotten exploded and torn down more times then Kevin's car.

I like to over think cartoons and question their logic a lot, but when it come to parents and similar things, leave it to the writers. I think people are over thinking about Applejack's parents. If they were her parents, then the episode would have been about them. So those characters were not part of my review.
They should start from scratch on the barn. Rebuilding it with the material they usually use, doesn't seem to work. It's turning into the "Looney Tunes" series that barn!
