Continued Puzzle Journey No One Else Cares About · 6:25pm April 29th
So an interesting thing happened yesterday:
I mainly did the Daily Mosaic Puzzles and the small ones, thinking that I got quite good enough for it. At least the Tree and Tent puzzles seemed to be successful even with bigger sizes—after all, this one I have been doing sporadically for years—but when I then did the bigger mosaic puzzles on time, I realised just how much I actually still struggle with it.
Sure, smaller puzzles I can somewhat keep up with top times, but as soon as the mosaic puzzles get bigger, I realise how much a difference it is to have done a puzzle type for years vs having only recently picked up one. Sure, what to look out for in mosaic puzzles is not that much, but it takes time to find them—time I don't need for tent and trees. And consistency is all over the place.
So, in short, I realised how much of an amateur I still am
No worries.
As someone who used to play a lot of minesweeper, this triggers old patterns in my brain but also absolutely baffles me.

It's similar (the page puts them both in the same url/category), but also different. Personally recommending it (and be surprised how weirdly difficult it is despite being quite obvious, at least for me)
And donotstart with the daily puzzle, you get lost in it if you don't know what to look out for. Try first the easy and then the hard 5x5 ones. The fun part is figuring out the patterns for the first time instead of watching a youtube video explaining two tactics to solving it5778682
Yeah, that link went straight to what I assume is a very large puzzle. One I absolutely couldn't comprehend but which my brain started working to puzzle out as best it could regardless. And I could feel myself getting sucked into it very quickly and frankly I think I had better stay far away.

Yep, a very big one. Takes for me about an hour to solve it.
