Why did I joined FimFiction? (Personal story) · 3:46am April 28th

Personal storytime.

It was around March of 2020, the pandemic happens and we are forced to stay home for our safety.

I don't mind staying at the house since I rather not go outside other than getting foods or watching movie at the theaters but the pandemic made me a bit scared because the disease and it took me few months (around 6 or 7 months) to finally go out.

During this period, I came across the website called FimFiction and since I have no better things to do as well reading great stories, I decides to make my own account for this website and here I am.

So yeah, the pandemic is responsible for me joining the website which got me thinking… if it wasn’t for the pandemic, not only I wouldn’t joined this website and make friends with other writers but I wouldn’t develop my own OCs.

Crazy time.

So that was the story of how I joined the website.

Do you have story of your own about why you joined this website, leave the comment down the below, I like to hear your side of your story.

I had always been a massive introvert, preferring to stay on my computer rather than going out, so the pandemic was mainly a chance to indulge and not have to worry about being inside too much.

As for how I got onto Fimfic, that's due to a couple of different fanfics that had TV Trope pages, as I had recently gotten into reading 'The Rise of Darth Vulcan' and wanted to see what other types of fanfics were out there.

I came across the Non-Brony Verse, as well as 'Drawn with the Night' and 'Misunderstandings', which inspired me to eventually write 'Lone Wolf of Equestria' and 'Howlite Howler', the latter of which would serve as a first draft of sorts to my standalone book 'Of Scales and Fur - Shiva'.

From there, there was a brief period where I considered leaving due to the forum I was visiting the most - The Writing Group - having a particularly nasty user who would cuss me out whenever I didn't have the exact same opinion as him.

Luckily, before he started giving me grief, I ended up finding some common ground with Lady Umbra (or Screwball, as they were known at the time), whom I helped with the Kung Fu Equestria series before joining alongside them in the Displaced Tournament.

And while I've given Shiva thoughts about the Tournament, I do have to admit that without it, I may not have eventually met The_Chill_Author, and eventually found the Friendship is Awesome forum, where I started really making progress with my characters.

So, as much as Shiva hates the tournament, it was thanks to that tournament that I got open to the idea of sharing my characters with you guys.

I guess we made the best out of a bad situation. :pinkiehappy:
