Journal #3: First official job editing!

Hi everypony!

I wanted to write this since I was really proud.

I finally completed my first job as an editor for a story!!!🎂

Even though the story as a whole is only 2 chapters so far, I am overjoyed that the author was so happy with the results. It was a whole new world for me helping someone else's work flourish. One thing though that I need to learn is more about how Fimfiction functions in terms of writing structure. Being able to transfers the work made in google docs into the site using bbcode would be very beneficial.

Plus, I could even offer future clients to set it up for them as part of the editing process...once I learn more of course.

I am so glad that I kept close contact with the author via Discord to show them the progress and verify if the edits were to their specifications. Definitely made the whole process run much smoother since 2 brainstorms are always better than one. Thank Celestia above for all those creative writing classes I took back in college. All the tips and tricks my professors drilled into my head were such lifesavers showing me how to apply that wisdom into helping others.

One thing that did surprise me was that even when re-read everything 3 times, I would still find things to improve...or mistakes that I was making. Still, I'm overjoyed the author was happy with the final product in the end.
