Athanasia Progress #3 · 9:10pm April 3rd
Hey all, still working on the latest chapter, and I'm not dead just yet.
It's been close to a month since the last update, and I do apologise for that. Writing this chapter has been weirdly difficult, a whole stew of writer's block, being busy with other things, and not quite liking how the story was going.
I essentially scrapped a 12,000-word chapter because it went in a direction where I found myself feeling stuck on where I could make it go while still having the ending fit the one I pictured.
I can't promise a release date as of right now, but it is coming. I still enjoy my characters, and this story - and I want it to be something I can also reread in the future, and if it ends sloppily I'd be very disappointed with myself.
Not that the next chapter is the last, I imagine there is at least one more after that, and I'm still undecided if that's the ending, or simply the conclusion of the current arc. I'm thinking that if I could write semi-sequel stories featuring the characters, and maybe a few alternate universes, but I do want there to be a spot where people can be like, 'yeah, that's an ending', instead of this ever continuing series which usually ends with an author forgetting about it.
I thank everyone for their patience (I haven't received any messages or anything asking where the new chapter is so that's a nice bonus!), and I hope people will enjoy what's to come.
This is so relatable it hurts. Props to you in trying to find an end point that you can feel satisified with while also contending with where to leave off for the next.
Going to be reading your fic sometime in the future, just hadn't gotten to it yet (it's in my RL, hence why I saw this blog). Thanks for the update and good luck with writing your next chapter.
